There are widespread rumors that Andre wasn't 7'4." I saw photos of him standing face-to-face with Chuck Wepner. Wepner is 6'5" and Andre was taller than him by about three inches.
From what I read, his legit length is 6'10." Everyone's size gets exaggerated, even to this day. Some people wear lifts as well.

Andre the Giant's size was probably exaggerated in actual height, but what was giant about him was the size of his body, overall. His hands, feet, head, arms and legs may've not been the longest in the world but they were giant for another man of his stature.
