Hey Guys...How are y'all traveling?

Did you get that rash looked at?

Anyway...as you all know I like doing lists...and because I'm stuck house
sitting at the moment...I thought I'd post a list that may get some discussion
going...a discussion that doesn't involve wrestling...because why not?

I mean it also may cause some of you to act like you have sand in your
vaginas...but its worth the risk right?

Right?

Fuck it! I'm doing it anyway.

And so here for your enjoyment & disappointment is:

+ The Top 10 Films I Just Don't Get +

MPW-50968

1). Avatar (2009)
So yeah...this is the big one for me. I don't understand why the entire world
seemed to get hard (or wet) in the pants but all I saw was Dances with Wolves
meets Aliens with boring lead characters & a bunch of Amazon Smurfs. Zoe
Saldana looked much better as a green skinned alien let me tell you.

I mean Stephen Lang was cool & it was hot to see Sigourney Weaver as an
Amazon Smurf...but apart from that...SKIP!!!

2). Escape From New York (1981)
So when I "get" John Carpenter he is one of the best. The original Halloween,
The Thing, Big Trouble In Little China & (my personal favorite) Prince Of Darkness
are all amazing...but...when I don't get John Carpenter...its incredibly frustrating.

They Live, The Fog & worst of all Escape From New York.

I just don't get what people see in this film & its hard for me to care and be
invested when the lead character clearly doesn't give a shit himself.

3). The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (2008)
Oh Man...this one also hurts. I cannot speak highly enough of David Fincher.
The guy is one of best modern day filmmakers & has a filmography reads like
a "Greatest Hits" album...but...I've never understood the appeal of The Curious
Case Of Benjamin Button.

It just does nothing for me...even though I wish it did.

4). Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985)

Now I will admit the first half of this film is solid...great even...but the
second half...like what the hell happened? The film feels like two scripts
were slammed together & it so doesn't work.

I understand why this franchise has so many fans...but I just don't understand
their defense of Beyond Thunderdome.

5). Get Out (2017)
So to me this is just a Twilight Zone, Outer Limits or X-Files episode stretched
out to a full length feature...& for some reason critics & fans couldn't praise
it enough.

Like did I watch a different movie to everyone else? Did Australia get a different
cut of this film? Seriously...its not that good people...it really isn't.

6). Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
So the Indiana Jones films are awesome...well...the 1st & 3rd are...but
Temple of Doom is dark, unpleasant, racist & overall just a bad time. Not
to mention that Willie Scott & Short Round are as irritating as wiping your
ass with broken glass.

MPW-19355

7). Forrest Gump (1994)
So this is a retardxploitation film right?

Right?

Next!

8). Interstellar (2014)

So this film could have been amazing...if not for all the science lessons & the
full on Shyamalan twist at the end. Seriously why do people give this film a
free pass?

Oh...because Christopher Nolan directed it...right.

The ending is still complete bullshit.

Anne Hathaway is cute though.

9). Frozen (2013)

So think about this for a second.

The Royal Family of Arendelle has a Daughter with Ice Elemental powers...
and after one accident tell her she can never use her powers again. Then
when she does "everyone" has an issue with her.

Now correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't Arendelle's main export ice?

THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE ON THEIR KNEES
WORSHIPPING ELSA AS A GODDESS!!!

WHY IS THERE ANY CONFLICT IN THIS FILM AT ALL?!

FUCK THIS MOVIE!!!

Oh...and while I'm here...where were all the reptiles & amphibians in Zootopia
Disney you fucking hacks!

10). Batman (1989)
Yep...I'm just going to say it. I've never seen the appeal of the first Tim Burton
Batman film. I really liked Batman Returns but the 89 film just does nothing for
me. And the less said about Batman Forever & Batman & Robin the better.

+++

Well...there you have it...10 films that I just don't get.

What do you think? Do I have no taste in films...or have
I made you think twice about a film you like?

Sound off in thread with some films you just don't get & as always...
I'll see you all around the traps.

I think you meant Pocahontas Alien: A Love Story

What's wrong with making a film about a mentally challenged person. They are humans too and stories can be told about them.

Loads of people love and hate Forrest Gump. There are many good reasons why people dislike the film, but I don't think the one reason you provided holds up well to why a movie is bad.

I never said there was anything wrong with making a film about the
mentally challenged...its more a question of tone.

Well...I'm sorry it doesn't hold up for you...& I never said the film was
bad...the point of the thread is films I don't get it.

All 10 films on this list are well made & could be
considered classics by many people...just not by
me...because I don't get them.

The concept of aging backwards is unique. The appeal is wrapped up in that concept.

So this film could have been amazing...if not for all the science lessons & the
full on Shyamalan twist at the end. Seriously why do people give this film a
free pass?
Because people don't mind the science lessons (or outright need them in order to understand why everything's happening) and can look past the ending.

The scenes with Lil Rel Howery alone make it at least an 8/10.

And I find the concept of aging backwards kind of stupid.

Because people don't mind the science lessons (or outright need them in order to understand why everything's happening) and can look past the ending.
Well...Good for them.

The scenes with Lil Rel Howery alone make it at least an 8/10.
Oh...you mean that guy that appears to be in a different
film & causes HUGE tone shifts whenever he's on screen?

Yeah...more like Lame/10.

There's nothing wrong with tone shifts if they're done in an entertaining manner. Honestly, your comment screams "snob" to me.

Godfather is so fucking boring, the opeing scene aka the wedding scene goes onfor like 40 minutes. I love american films from the seventies but this is a dull gangster film. Goodfellas is a perfect example of a engaging one.
