Playoff Update - The Lone Star State Championship

Happy Gilmore: Greetings everyone welcome back to the Smark Mini Golf League - my name is Happy Gilmore and I am your chief host for the playoffs. Shooter McGavin has had his fun - but now the really competition gets started. The course played at this round was the 'Lone Star State Championship' with our entrants required to go around the course for two separate rounds and then adding their scores together. The first match we will look at will be the Qualifying Semi-Final that took place between the 'Shooter McGavin Trophy Winner' Raidokken and Juice. Now what made this match really interesting is that Raidokken beat Juice at the Yankee Doodle Classic Battle Royale event only for Juice to claim singles victory over Raidokken at the Desk City Links - so this contest was already going to be interesting. Especially when the winner gets a direct ticket to the League Grand Final!

Juice would post a conservative E par for her first round and the go -8 in the second round to for eight under for the round. Raidokken would blow her competition out of the water however, as she would post -19 in round one and -14 in round two to score a staggering -33 at the Lone Star State Championship course. This means that 'THE TIGAH KING' RAIDOKKEN has advance to the SMGL Grand Final, whilst Juice will get a second chance in the Elimination Final.

Our elimination playoffs would be run in a very different manner. Our pre-season #1 seed Christian Cage would find himself in the 4th vs. 5th match and would impress by scoring -17 on his first round attempt. His opponent Hollywood would really struggle on the course and choose to concede the round and thus result in 'CAPTAIN CHAOS' CHRISTIAN CAGE advancing to Elimination Semi-Final.

In our second elimination playoff - lowest ranked Shania Twain would score +10 on their first round. However, their opponent Petty Amore would not be able to be located - and would thus be withdrawn from the tournament. This would mean that 'HERE COMES THE PAIN' Shania Twain also advances to the Elimination Semi-Final.

Happy Gilmore: The next round in the Smark Mini Golf League will only feature one official playoff game as Shania Twain will take on Christian Cage - with the winner already with the knowledge that they will face Juice in the Elimination Final. The loser of this contest will find themselves walking away with nothing to show for their effort this season. However, everyone that has been involved in the SMGL - plus any guests that are interested are cordially invited to be part of the 2020 Smarkters Tournament.
