Yeah I have been impressed by The Vikings in FA now put together and kick the Packers asses I say.
I've been impressed with them as well. They needed to make moves on defense and signing outside linebacker Za'Darius Smith is a big move.

The Chiefs sign Ronald Jones, to back up Clyde Edwards-Helaire:

Sources: Kansas City Chiefs reach 1-year deal with RB Ronald Jones II

ESPN

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Free-agent running back Ronald Jones II has agreed to terms of a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, sources told ESPN, confirming multiple reports.

The Chiefs needed help at running back with Clyde Edwards-Helaire being the only proven player at the position under contract. Their leading rusher in 2021, Darrel Williams, and their top playoff rusher from last season, Jerick McKinnon, are unrestricted free agents.

Jones, 24, was a second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2018. He started 25 games in four seasons with the Bucs. He led the team in rushing yards in 2019 (724) and 2020 (978). He also caught 76 passes in the four seasons with a best of 31 in 2019.

But he fell from favor with his coaches after the Bucs signed Leonard Fournette during the 2020 season. Last season, Jones started three games and had 428 rushing yards and 10 receptions.

Jones is the latest addition to a prolific Chiefs offense that is retooling. Kansas City traded wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, and two others who played a significant amount last season, Byron Pringle and Demarcus Robinson are also gone. In their place, the team has added free-agent wideouts JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

New York Jets sign kicker Greg Zuerlein

ESPN

The New York Jets have signed kicker Greg Zuerlein, the team announced Saturday.

Zuerlein will look to rebound in 2022 after missing six field goal attempts (going 29-of-35) and six PATs (42-of-48) in 2021 with the Dallas Cowboys, who released him this month. In 2020, Zuerlein set a Cowboys team record by making 34 field goals.

The Jets have been cycling through kickers ever since Jason Myers, an All-Pro in 2018, departed for the Seattle Seahawks in free agency. In 2019, they tried to replace him with Chandler Catanzaro, who retired unexpectedly in training camp.

Since then, the Jets have employed seven kickers: Kaare Vedvik, Sam Ficken, Sergio Castillo, Chase McLaughlin, Matt Ammendola, Alex Kessman and Eddy Pineiro. Vedvik, McLaughlin and Kessman lasted only one game before they got the boot.

The Jets have three kickers on the roster: Zuerlein, Pineiro and Ammendola, who remained on the practice squad last season after getting released. Pineiro was tendered a one-year, $2.43 million restricted free agent contract offer last week, giving the Jets the right of first refusal if another team tries to sign him.

Zuerlein, 34, is joining his third team after spending eight seasons with the Rams, who drafted him in the sixth round of the 2012 draft. He has one of the strongest kicking legs in the league and had a career-best 61-yard field goal in 2015. Zuerlein was a first-team All-Pro two years later, when he also made his only Pro Bowl team while making 38 of 40 field goal tries.

For his career, Zeurlein has made 82.2% of his field goal attempts.

Information from ESPN's Rich Cimini and Todd Archer and The Associated Press was used in this report.

Baltimore Ravens sign coach John Harbaugh to 3-year contract extension

ESPN

PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Baltimore Ravens signed coach John Harbaugh to a three-year contract extension, owner Steve Bisciotti announced Tuesday at the NFL league meetings.

The extension puts Harbaugh under contract with the Ravens through the 2025 season and continues one of the longest runs of any active coach. It also represents a strong vote of confidence after the team's 8-9 season, which was the first time Harbaugh has finished in last place.

Harbaugh, 59, was entering the final year of a four-year deal that he signed in January 2019. A source told ESPN last month that the sides were nearing a new contract.

"No interest in having him go lame duck on me here. It's not fair to him," Bisciotti said. "I think John's grown and grown and grown. It's kind of interesting. I don't feel like I'm just signing up the same guy. I think that's really a compliment to him. I really feel like there's a rebirth in John as the years go on. Things that mattered to him don't matter as much anymore. I'm just thrilled as an owner to have a guy that's going to be going into his 15th year. So, I'm pretty pleased with it."

This marks Harbaugh's 15th NFL season in Baltimore, marking the third-longest tenure among active coaches. Only Bill Belichick and Mike Tomlin have been with their current teams longer.

Harbaugh has led the Ravens to the playoffs nine times, producing a career record of 148-96 (.607). In 2012, Harbaugh guided Baltimore to a Super Bowl title with a strong-armed Joe Flacco. Seven years later, Harbaugh became the only Ravens coach to win the Associated Press' NFL Coach of the Year award after going all-in on Lamar Jackson and creating an offense tailored for him.

Last year, Harbaugh was in the midst of one of his best coaching jobs, helping the Ravens to the best record in the AFC at 8-3 in Week 12 despite eight starters on season-ending injured reserve. But Baltimore lost its last six games, which resulted in just the second losing record under Harbaugh.

Both of Harbaugh's losing seasons -- 2015 and last season -- came when his starting quarterbacks (Flacco and Jackson) were sidelined by injury for a combined 11 games.

When Bisciotti selected Harbaugh to replace Brian Billick in 2008, it was considered an unconventional hire because Harbaugh had primarily been a special teams coach with the Philadelphia Eagles. Harbaugh justified the decision with consistent success, recording 11 playoff wins. Only Belichick has had more postseason victories (16) over that 14-year span.

From the time he stepped inside the Ravens' facility, Harbaugh changed the culture, promoting unselfishness while encouraging players to be themselves. The players rave about Harbaugh's competitiveness and how he'll push them while working out beside them. Harbaugh has built a reputation for being aggressive, whether it's going for it on fourth downs or choosing to win games in the final minute with 2-point conversions.

This is Harbaugh's sixth contract extension with Baltimore, which has become one of the most stable franchise in sports. The Ravens have only had three head coaches in their 26-year history: Ted Marchibroda, Billick and Harbaugh.

With Harbaugh's deal complete, the next priority is Jackson's contract. The 2019 NFL MVP is entering his fifth-year option, and the Ravens would be forced to put the franchise tag on him next offseason if the sides can't agree on a contract extension.

Whose House?!
Baker doesn't want to go to the Panthers. The Browns may be keeping him in case Watson gets banned from the league.

Eagles bringing back 'Kelly green' uniforms for 2023; will add black helmet this season

CBS SPORTS

The Eagles are undergoing several changes to their uniforms over the next two years

The Philadelphia Eagles have long waited for the day to bring back their "Kelly green" uniforms, which have been finally willed into existence. Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie announced at the NFL owners meetings on Tuesday the franchise will bring back the wildly popular uniforms worn by the organization until 1996, when Lurie switched the team colors to the current "midnight green" used for the past 25 years.

The uniforms will debut in 2023, when the Eagles have a Kelly green alternate helmet to match the jersey. In addition, Lurie announced the Eagles will wear a black helmet to match their black alternate jersey -- which debuted in 2003.

"We really wanted to go back to the classic Eagles jersey, but we wanted to do it the right way," Lurie said. "It's what our fans have wanted. It's what we wanted. We wish we could deliver it right away, but it takes a two-year process. The 2023 season we're going to have the classic Eagles green uniform and helmet."

The Kelly green throwbacks the Eagles will use are from the Randall Cunningham era, the team's home uniform from 1985 to 1995. The Eagles wore a Kelly green jersey with gray pants, which were a staple of the uniform for several decades.

Teams can have up to four sets of jerseys (home, away, two alternates) during a season. By 2023, the Eagles will have a home (midnight green), road (white), alternate one (black), and alternate two (throwback). Philadelphia is hoping the black helmets can be in the rotation in 2023, giving the Eagles three different helmet designs (midnight green, black, Kelly green). If the NFL doesn't pass a third helmet, the Eagles will just use midnight green and Kelly green for the throwbacks.

"Our players love wearing black, and they love the all-black (uniform)" Lurie said. "We're going to match the black jersey with the black helmet. We've listened to you. We wanted this from the beginning."

The Eagles are the third team since the "one-shell rule" was lifted to announce a throwback jersey. The New England Patriots will bring back their "Pat Patriot" throwback red jerseys this upcoming season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers "orange creamsicle" uniforms will debut in 2023.
