Yeah lol, there's multiple layers here in this draft for *why* it makes sense for the Chargers to move on from Herbert. The team is A.) Undergoing a soft reset with Harbaugh in charge, B.) Herbert is going to command massive money, which the Chargers may not be willing to spend for, and C.) Other teams are desperate for QB so they might overpay to get Herbert's services.

Now my only hold up regarding getting Herbert is the fact that that would be a shit ton of money commanded by two players, primarily Justin Jefferson and Herbert himself. They'd have to command almost 25% of the cap space.
