The All Star Game was so hard to watch being a long time fan of the Game since I was 6. Getting huge numbers in the Game means nothing when the Teams don't play Defense. Back in the day they actually gave effort it feels like that changed in the 2010s. I do find it funny when guys like Dame wins the MVP a guy I love but a guy who hasn't proved a thing in the Playoffs when it mattered and will only get his shot to reach the dance because of the Greek Freak and less on him.
I don't remember the last time I've watched the Pro Bowl whatever the Year it started being Flag football. Now the stuff days prior to the Game sorta like the Skills Challenge are actually entertaining because the Players are actually trying and having fun while doing so. I think it might of the only second or third time I saw Jalen Hurts smiling all Season is when he was doing a QB Drill and during the Game.
Maybe it's just me, but it's the All-Star game. Why the fuck should anyone try in the All-Star game. 
We ain't talking about the NBA Finals. We talkin' about the ALL STAR GAME. A meaningless game that doesn't affect much if anything.
The people who are mad about players not trying in the All-Star game are just fuckin' coping in my opinion because they can't stand players not giving a shit about a glorified exhibition game.

Like I had to laugh at people who were pissed about Anthony Edwards shooting only with his left hand and Chris Finch joking about how bad the defense was. My guys, they were having a bit of fun and enjoying themselves, as long as that's going on, who gives a fuck if it isn't a defensive battle?

Thats like saying pitchers at the MLB all star game should just toss the ball as they pitch because its an exhibition game lol.
Sure, why not? It's a meaningless game anyways. Why should any professional athlete give a full shit about something that doesn't really affect their in-season standings.

Guys haven’t tried in like a decade. It’s the same as when the NFL used to actually have a game for the Pro Bowl.
Years ago, I pitched to a friend of mine that the winning conference should get Home Court in the Finals. That’s probably the only way to get the game to feel important.

So the NBA needs the All Star Game because All Star Weekend is the NBA's Super Bowl. it's the destination weekend for Basketball since you know where it's gonna be a year in advance.
Also losing the game means you lose Saturday night.
Chris got it right though. Have All Star Saturday Night as is. Then have HORSE and a 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 tournament winning team gets $1M each.
