From what I read, their appeal is based on the fact that L2 penalties are supposed to be tied to post race inspections, not voluntary prerace inspections. Might have a loophole.

Tbh I was hoping for something like this. Didn’t even think about the number being changed for it, I just wanted him to do something to honor that first season. Also wanna see him do a throwback to his 2014 Championship Car.

It is cool that Childress allowed Harvick to use the number. Maybe his throwback at Darlington can be his Championship car design. I don't think that anyone would fuss if he made this year all about himself. lol

There are people elsewhere defending Hamlin and attacking Chastain but I think that what people fail to realize is that Denny Hamlin admitted to intentionally targeting Chastain. That's what got him in trouble the most. Not just the fact that this is a continuation of something that went on last year.

I am all for the "boys have at it" thing but when it keeps going and going and going, NASCAR has to do something if they don't know when to stop or else it's going to get to the point that someone could end up concussed or worse because this may go beyond the allowance of "hard racing". So Hamlin's probably going to lose in this appeal for those reasons.

Right! I’m a Chastain fan, and I don’t like Denny. But I don’t blame Denny for wrecking him. Ross had it coming. But own that shit, Denny. Don’t be a little bitch who talks tough and then folds.
