Now that I finally was able to see the ending... Logano wins! Paul Wolfe's second championship from two different drivers. Logano and Keselowski. Apparently Penske had focused on this race way ahead of everyone else (I think that I heard that on Dale Jrs podcast) while others were focused on Martinsville and other races. So it's not surprising that Penske dominated, finishing 1 and 2. Sad that this season is over but looking forward to next year. HOPEFULLY next year is better for MTJ.

Really like the Preece to the 41 move for everyone involved. Custer had some success in hte Xfinity series in the past. Hopefully he can regain some confidence. In the mean time, we get a chance to see Preece in some good equipment. Have to imagine Harvick and/or Almirola retire within the next couple years (especially since AA already almost retired once). Maybe Custer can work on some things and make another run at it.

The Ty Gibbs news was probably the worst-kept secret in NASCAR. Everyone knew Grandpa would move him into the seat when he got the chance. Will be interesting to see how he deals with more seasoned drivers who really don't care about his last name. Think he got away with a lot of stuff in the Xfinity series that won't fly with the big dogs.

Well, the only surprise to that is that Ty will use the 54 number instead of the 18. It says that they intend on using the 18 number in the future. Perhaps smart since the 18 during this era of racing is connected to Kyle Busch.

I think it was best to retire the 18 number for now since it's been synymous with Kyle Busch for the 14 years he's been with JGR. Gibbs bringing the number 54 with him to the Cup Series makes sense.

JGR needed JHN honestly because they lost Brandon Jones and Ty Gibbs has moved up to cup. So it was just the most logical direction for either side to make happen.

Kyle Busch spent the last 15 seasons behind the wheel of the No. 18 car. For 2023, he’s left Joe Gibbs Racing for Richard Childress Racing and will now drive the No. 8 car.

The new number was personally designed by Busch. The change came with input from Richard Childress and RCR.

“The revised number honors the past while embracing the future and the new era that Busch’s presence brings to the 54-year-old organization, essentially merging one of the NASCAR industry’s most storied teams with one of the sports’ most successful modern era drivers,” per the team release.

The team also confirmed crew chief Randall Burnett and spotter Derek Kneeland will remain with the No. 8. Kneeland previously worked with Reddick in 2022.

Kyle Busch: 2023 Sponsors​

Insight into the sponsor lineup for Kyle Busch has also been released. Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, 3CHI, Alsco, Lenovo and BetMGM will all return to sponsor the No. 8 in 2023.

“Our business relationships are paramount to our organization and we’re proud to confirm that our primary partners on the No. 8 team will be returning to RCR in 2023,” said Torrey Galida, president of RCR. “Their commitment to our organization is a testament to our team’s collaborative approach and the value it has delivered to so many great brands.”

Both Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen and Alsco released their paint schemes for the 2023 season. View those below.
