Former Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino dies at 78

Larry Lucchino, who won three World Series titles during his tenure as president and CEO of the Red Sox from 2002 to 2015, has died at the age of 78.

He's the one who got the Orioles switched from Memorial Stadium to Camden Yards, as well as getting the Padres into Petco Park.

Athletics will he moving from Oakland to Sacramento temporarily until their Vegas stadium is finished.

That situation is a genuine mess. On one hand, Oakland's economy is a mess right now. The city is having it pretty rough with poverty and crime. Also the Oakland Coliseum is a mess, they need to move. Also for city council, it isn't an easy ask to go "HELP US SPEND MONEY ON A STADIUM OVER OTHER NEEDS!" But man Oakland's ownership is also crap. Crap as hell. Cheap, seemingly wanted them out years ago. Refused to spend much on fielding a half-decent team (There's a difference between "We're in a rebuild" and what he did.) and when the team is half decent, people in Oakland SHOW UP.
