And my hate for the Yankees grows. I knew if the Padres would trade him it would be to the AL vs the NL so they don't strengthen anyone in NL but what are the Yankees giving up is the question I have and will be interested to know because I know two or other NL and AL that would of gave possibly a better deal.

So a ton of Pitching pretty much for the Padres but doesn't move the needle for them as a Team losing a Power Bat like Soto.

It's a salary dump by the Padres (their owner died and their TV situation is unknown). They wanted pitching and given that Soto is a Free Agent after the 2024 season he commands less in a trade. King is the big loss for the Yankees as he was arguably the 2nd best starting pitcher the Yankees had in September behind Cole.

Judge/Soto/Verdugo outfield is interesting. And Grisham as a 4th OF is really nice. Judge likely to play CF this season.

oh yeah and he's a relief pitcher who didn't start until September so he's not even worked a full starters workload.

If I recall the owner died or is dying and his children are running the organization through an estate.

And the ownership has been shit for a long time so good on them for selling hopefully new dude is better.

Only one of the sons is running the team right now though cause there was a huge legal battle last year, but I didnt know they were even being considered for being up for sale either. Hopefully it goes through and the new dude actually puts some money into the team.
