WWE continues to re-sign its major stars to fat contracts despite their finances not improving and their popularity sliding.
You thought we were done with vacancies? No! First, Finn Balor dropped the NXT Title due to having been called back up to the main roster for a good 3 months at this point.
Then, Taker retired and was forced to drop the Universal Title after he fell at home and his ankle gave out on him.
In a completely unexpected development, three wrestlers - Rhea Ripley, Xavier Woods, and Bayley - have walked out and requested their releases in quick succession. WWE, in bad financial situation, has had no choice but to release them. In addition, Daniel Bryan's contract was not renewed. The sign of bad things to come?
WWE senior executive Canyon Ceman is in hot water after insulting a 12-year-old boy on Twitter.
Adam Cole and Britt Baker have gotten engaged! Good for them.

Maybe those crisis rumours for AEW were founded... They've started taping Dynamite four at a time, like WWE have. Now Impact is the only North American company that does one TV show at a time, it seems.

WWE has sold off the Performance Center, and it's no longer signing wrestlers to exclusive contracts. First to take advantage is King Corbin, who has signed to appear on NWA Power.
Therefore, due to the weird way the mod treats main roster and NXT as separate promotions, NXT are the only WWE promotion that still has exclusive deals.
NXT UK is no more and all of its stars have been released. This totally isn't because I chose not to load the UK region, shush.
On the day of the death of his wife Linda, Vince McMahon relinquished WWE ownership to his son Shane and announced his intention to leave the industry.

NJPW is very much struggling with the sex abuse scandal. It's been predicted that the "King of Sports" might not see 2022.

After booking an out-of-shape Bully Ray to defeat Rush for the ROH World Championship (under reported threat of a talent walkout which was just empty words from Mr. Ray), Marty Scurll has left his position as ROH booker in even more disgrace than he was in before.
Speaking of ROH, they apparently attempted to spread a fake story about WWE in a kick-them-while-they're-down sort of way, but were called out on it and got all the bad press they deserve.

The massive glut of retirements recently may have been connected to the fact that the wrestling industry in America LITERALLY BOTTOMED OUT. I checked just now, it's currently at 1 and rising, which can mean only one thing.
Jeff Jarrett now owns ROH. Rumours that he is set to rename the company to "GFW of Honor" remain unfounded. Tommy Dreamer is booking them now, despite still being contracted to Impact. Immediately he booked a PPV main event where the two head honchos face off against each other in tag team action (it ended in a draw).
