WWE issued the following statement:
"WWE has not cancelled Friday Night SmackDown in Detroit, however, based on the current situation, we are putting contingency plans in place in the event that upcoming WWE shows are cancelled by government officials, civil authorities and/or local venues.”
PWInsider.com has been told by several sources that Smackdown would be moved to the WWE Performance Center this Friday and that an official announcement would be forthcoming. It may be that a decision was made and then reversed or that while word was making its way among those in the company, the final "official" decison has not yet been made.
It should be noted that Detroit's Little Caesars Arena, where Smackdown is scheduled to be held, is where Rudy Gobert, the NBA Player who tested positive for the coronavirus, played over the weekend. His positive test led to the NBA suspending their current season.
I would expect more to shake out tomorrow, but if you are a ticketholder for the Friday taping, WWE is stating they are going forward with the taping as of this posting.
