I'm British and I absolutely love this show. I got into it about six years ago when I caught an episode on the television and from there I was hooked. I ended up buying the first and second season to start with and of course once I got done watching a few of them, I ordered the rest and watched them over and over again up until I could remember pretty much every line of the episode I was watching, it's safe to say that I was addicted. I have all the DVD's sat on the desk in my bedroom but I haven't touched them in a little over a year, so I don't have as much memory of the show as I thought I did. It might be time to watch it back to be honest.

Lately I've been watching 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia', and honestly to me it seems like the Seinfeld of now. Sure it doesn't have stand up, but it reminds me of Seinfeld with all of the wacky things that goes on in the show and how each of them is so egocentric that they would do pretty much anything as long as it benefits them. I'd definitely recommend any Seinfeld fans to check this show out.

From what I do remember of Seinfeld, I really can't pick out a favourite episode since there were just too many that fit the criteria. However one thing that always sticks in my mind whenever I think of Seinfeld is that bit Jerry did about buildings, it went something like 'Why do they call it a "building"? It looks like they're finished. Why isn't it a "built"?'. That line always cracks me up.

Glad you mentioned IASIP as I still haven't seen it yet, but will be making a start on it soon. If its anyway near Seinfeld I will be pleased. Really is a golden era for US comedy it seems right now.

Have to say I can't think which episode that building line is from, is it from one of the stand up clips or just a random comment from the show? Will look out for it.

Season seven holds up really well on further viewings and is actually now one of my favourite overall. The Susan/George engagement storyline is very entertaining and leads to many fresh possibilities for the show overall. Not to mention it has some of my favourite supporting characters such as Peterman, Puddy and Jackie Chiles. The Pool Guy is in my top five episodes ever.

8 by contrast is a big step down its where the show started becoming too cartoonish instead of having those relatable stories which were extended to be really funny and interesting, the storytelling just isn't as strong. There are a couple of gems still such Little Kicks and Yada Yada. The Pothole isn't a great episode in its self but the closing scene with Newman having his truck set on fire while singing Three Times a Lady is one of oddest laugh out loud moments in Seinfeld history.

One of my favorite characters.

The Risk episode was one of my favorites.

Jerry going nuts from the sign also was one of my favorites.

Easily my favorite comedy of all time. I dug the later seasons more than the earlier ones, but love them all.

Yeah I forgot this even existed and that I commented on it. As it happens me and Mum are nearly at the end of our latest rewatch. I think S3-7 are the peak. The first couple and last couple of seasons are more hit and miss.

Lol don't worry, I forgot we had a thread for The Wire from this long ago too and saw my last post in it had opinions I completely disagreed with after a rewatch :lol

Yeah you gotta get into it, I’d try watching from season 3 on at first, first few seasons are good but a bit outdated.

First season especially I'd say was super dated but it really picks up even as early as season 2 IMO.

4-7 or so were just masterpieces
