Scream (2022)

It is weird to see how old David Arquette, Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox look now. I watched all four of them in October with my oldest daughter and it was such a wave of nostalgia.

I just realized; I look old as fuck now too.

I think Neve still looks stunning, she's aged really well. Age hasn't been as kind to Courtney Cox though. I'm just glad they are all back together mostly, having the original cast there is important to really sell this thing for me. There is no Scream without Sidney Prescott after all.

Agreed. I'd still throw it in Courtney Cox though. David Arquette too. <.<

I was really shocked that they all came back for another one.

I fully intend on seeing this opening day

Some are saying it's close to the original in quality, and that's a pretty high bar. I'll be very happy if that's the case. Love Scream 2 and 4 as sequels, but nothing has quite matched that impact the first movie had on me.

Been trying to avoid trailers for this like fuck. Much like I tried to with Scream 4, 10 years ago.

Watching this week’s Dynamite and at first, I thought it was an advert for some American security system. A couple of seconds past and I realised that this must be a trailer for Scream 5 and then Ghostface popped up into frame.:pogba

And the other annoying thing is, I have COVID and provided I provide a negative test, the earliest I can come out of isolation is the 14th.
Will be pissed if I still have to stay inside!

I'm not sure slashers are still as effective in 2021 as they were 20 years ago.

I think it depends. I thought Scream 4 did a good job of bringing it to modern audiences, and this looks to be about the same judging by the reactions. If not better. Which is surprising without Wes and Williamson. I don't think most Slashers are 'scary' but I enjoy the whodunnit aspect. Although, that opening with Drew Barrymore from the first movie definitely do give me chills.

They got the kid from 13 Reasons Why :lol. I know he's been in horror films before so he should be good.

They also got Jenna Ortega who was on a Disney show called Stuck in the Middle which I really enjoyed so I'm glad she's getting more work.

Depends what horror movies you're talking about. He was in one on Netflix called 'The Open House' and it might be one of the worst movies I've ever watched. :uhoh Nah, he'll be good, he's a solid actor.
