A bit of a nitpick here : I own a physical copy of RE7 on PS4 but I also have the free digital version from the PlayStation Plus collection [all those games they gave to PS5 owners for free]. Still they want me to put the disc in the console to download and play the free PS5 update, a little annoying.
I might be wrong but I think that means you still have like the physical version installed on your system. if you completely uninstall it and then install the playstation plus collection version it should probably not ask anymore. it's a stupid thing but that's exactly what happened to me with another game that i had both versions for.

Thanks for the tip but that was not the issue, no. As soon as I got the PS5 and saw that the game was in the library for free, I downloaded it and I never put the physical copy in the console. While I like to own physical copies of my games, especially if they have steelbook editions, I prefer digital copies so that I don't need to switch constantly between games and blu rays of series or movies.
