In here we can recommend a movie to our fellow Pulsers.

Just leave a little reason why you think people should watch it.

First up for me:

We Need To Talk About Kevin

I gave a little of my thoughts on it in the What Are You watching now thread. The movie is just great. It is not a big action movie and a lot of it is very dialog driven as well as just emotionally gripping. It says a lot without saying much. I think this movie just shot into the top 10 of my all time favorite movies.

I don't know if its for everyone, but it was damn good. I feel the subject matter and the slower pacing might put some people off, but hey, if you can deal with that its excellent.

I'm going to recommend The Hunter, which I recently reviewed, for sort of the same reason. It's slow-paced and takes its time telling its story, but at the end it is very rewarding. Plus Willem Dafoe's performance is fantastic.

The Wendell Baker Story This is Luke Wilson's baby, wrote, directed, and stars him! A strong cast makes this good plus a great story. I think this went under the radar but it's just really good.
I'm sure a lot of have seen it already but The Big Chill is also awesome. I love ensemble cast movies like that.

I was actually wondering when you would throw this into the thread.

Really?

It's from Skip muthafuckin' Sheffield. I don't think I've ever quoted him ever. Other than "*bumps into Morrison on purpose* Watch where I'm walking!"

P.S. Sorry to get this off topic a little, Troy. I still love you.

Ok, to get things back on topic here, I just watched The Killing Fields and man is it ever a good movie. Sam Waterston gives a remarkably strong performance and the subject matter is gripping while staying realistic. I'd recommend it to everyone that likes historical dramas but its not for the faint hearted.

Oh, well I hate you anyway.

To get it back on topic a tad, I watched The Innkeepers last night and I really liked it. The pacing was excellent. The payoff was great. Sara Paxton was fabulous in her role. I can name some more that I liked but I'm not because I'm lazy.

That's one I really do recommend.

Johnny Be Good on DVD and Tango & Cash on Blu Ray came in today. I love those movies. I am watching Tango & Cash right now.
