"WWE is proud to celebrate this historic milestone with our partners at USA Network," WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon said. “Our new three-hour Raw represents the next generation in interactive television where our fans won’t just watch the show, they will help create it.â€￾

Starting with the historic 1,000th episode of Raw on July 23, The WWE Universe will have new ways to get involved in the show through WWE.com and social media by deciding matches, stipulations, Superstar development and more.

"The WWE Universe is one of the most socially active and passionate fan bases in all of television," Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel, co-presidents USA Network, said. "The powerful three-hour block of live TV truly makes USA the year-round destination for young male viewers on Monday nights."

What do you think about Raw expanding to a three-hour show? Sound off now on Twitter using #3hourRAW.
Urgh is the best way I can describe this.

"This made a lot of people angry and has widely been considered as a bad move"

Right now when they have a three hour show it's usually worse than a two hour, and the current two hour product has been utter shit at least since Extreme Rules.

This is terrible, the extra hour is gonna be filled with awful comedy segments and promos.

At least when WCW did it they had the ratings to back it up. Can't understand this one.

What the hell are you talking about? Nitro's ratings were on a downhill slide when they added the extra hour.

Not to mention Raw is actually a ratings magnet for the most part.

This would be great if they actually used an extra hour wisely but they hardly do. I had a feeling this was inevitable with the amount of 3 hour Raw's they kept doing so it actually doesn't shock me. Unless they wake up and realize their usual format of how they do 3 hour Raw's suck I'm not much of a fan of this idea.

Hard enough time keeping people for the overrun.

Who the hell will sit through 3 hours? Bad idea.

No need to be rude, I was under the impression that they added the third hour in the Spring of 98 when the ratings were still high, whatever the case I am pretty sure that they would have been better than Raw's today.

That 3rd hour was partly the reason for the downward spiral.

They didn't have enough people to come up with coherrent storylines, and they were stretched thin to begin with and this just added to the load.

WWE's creative team should start thinking mutiny over all the extra shit they gotta do now.

This actually makes sense. Think this over logically

- NXT today just entered their first solo tapings. They are getting a roster and creative overhaul from FCW

- SD will receive the talent from nxt that includes the likes of Kidd, McGuillicutty, Max, Percy, Usos, Kaitlyn, Bateman, Hwkins, Reks, Tamina, JTG, Fox, Yoshi, Zeke, and Baretta who work Tuesday schedules anyhow. They know how to work in front of a SD audience and under the bright lights. They can be integrated like Titus, Darren, and AJ were because SD only needs a 1.7 to be the A show on SyFy given the night.

- Raw goes 3 hours. It is simple as the Supershow usually showcase Orton, Rhodes, Show, and Bryan from the SD brand anyhow. It is the a show. The one that sells ppv. It can benefit the most and it keeps USA happy which keeps NBC and universal happy

They have the creative hands free thanks to the nxt overhaul, and it is probably a concession to NBC to get NXT on the air as they can't come on any non universal cable channel anyhow and USA has wanted Raw to be 3 hours since 05

It doesn't make sense at all.

Look at how much filler the average Raw has, and that's just two hours.

It does, you just don't want it too, so you say Raw 3 hours is bad, without thinking about the impact on the whole roster and company. Do you think it's a coincidence this is announced today when NXT starts completely over and their old roster just worked perhaps the last show under the Redemption format?
