Bob Irvin (born September 9, 1948)[1] was an early leader of the modern Republican Party in Georgia in the United States. He was a member of the Long Range Planning Committee in the 1970s, along with Mack Mattingly, Paul Coverdell, Newt Gingrich, and John Linder. He served 15 years in the Georgia House of Representatives, in the 1970s and again in the 1990s.[2] He ran for the State House in 1990, but lost the Republican primary to Dorothy Felton by 227 votes.[3] He was elected to his second stint in the State House after incumbent Mitch Skandalakis was elected to the Fulton County Board of Commissioners in November 1993.[4][5] He was the House Republican Leader 1994–2000, known for passing welfare reform and tax cuts.[6] He ran unsuccessfully for the United States Senate in 2002, losing to Saxby Chambliss.[7] He attracted attention in early 2005 by publicly calling for Ralph Reed to withdraw from the race for Lieutenant Governor of Georgia.[8]

The 2016-17 season was the 11th in BCIHL history. It saw its first NHL alumni, Patrick Holland join the University of Victoria. Simon Fraser University would finish first[1] in the league clinching the regular season championship on the final day of the season with a 3-1 win over the Trinity Western Spartans. TWU's Evan Last finished as leading scorer.[2] In the playoffs Trinity Western defeated the four time defending league champion Selkirk College Saints two games to zero, and the University of Victoria upset regular season champions Simon Fraser University winning two games to zero. In the final the University of Victoria would once again come up with an upset, beating Trinity Western two games to one and claiming their 4th league championship.

Some Answered Questions (abbreviated SAQ; Persian version: Mufáviḍát-i-‘Abdu'l-Bahá) is a compilation of table talks of ʻAbdu'l-Bahá that were collected by Laura Clifford Barney between 1904 and 1906 across several pilgrimages. The book was first published in English in 1908.[1] ʻAbdu'l-Bahá was the son of Baháʼu'lláh, the founder of the Baháʼí Faith, and was appointed by him as his successor and interpreter of his words.[2]

The book covers a variety of subjects, including religion, philosophy, science, human evolution, immortality of the soul, labor strikes, reincarnation, and a variety of Christian topics

Italy competed at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1972 in Sapporo, Japan, from 2 to 18 February 1972.[1]

From 1948 through 1980, the alpine skiing events at the Winter Olympics also served as the World Championships, held every two years. With the addition of the giant slalom, the combined event was dropped for 1950 and 1952, but returned as a World Championship event in 1954 as a "paper race" which used the results from the three events. During the Olympics from 1956 through 1980, World Championship medals were awarded by the FIS for the combined event. The combined returned as a separate event at the World Championships in 1982 and at the Olympics in 1988.
