Fuck, I remember when I first caught on that the computer in the original was called "Mother" and realized that motherhood is the essence of all these films.
Either way, fucking awesome movie and even better LD. Once again it goes to show you that it only takes two to tango, especially when those two are the best owner/admin combo on the planet. Now if we can get some more people out for Alien 3 next week it would be great as that one is MY personal favourite.

Best in the world! We are. My main problem with Alien 3 is killing off Newt. I feel we went through such a journey with Newt and Ripley that it was an absolute slap to the face. Once we get past that, it's an okay film. Certainly better than the film we'll be watching after that... Alien vs. Predator.

Killing off Newt ad Hicks was only one of the many big problems in the film. Had they introduced a likeable cast of characters, like the previous films, I think their deaths would have been forgiven to a certain extent. Instead, the characters are all convicts, murderers, rapists, etc... Ripley herself is also relentless and suicidal long before the big reveal near the end of the film. In such circumstances, how is the film supposed to connect with audiences?
Doesn't help that the final act consists mostly of redundant, poorly shot "Alien chasing some random convinct" that are neither scary or suspenseful.
I'll be bloody honest. I hate Alien 3.
