Okay, this is a official thread for arguably the best wrestling on the planet: SoCal based Indy company Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. They run 10-12 shows per year, and their match-cards have a "supercard" feel. They are probably the only company in America that can book Indy dream matches, because they have no political barriers.

Of course it's going to be expensive, but that is the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla commitment to excellence! Now quit asking stupid questions and just thank your lucky stars that Pro Wrestling Guerrilla even exists, let alone puts on nutty matches like this.

2011 Battle of Los Angeles
, El Generico was on a bit of a losing streak. Sure, it might not seem that way; after all, El Generico is arguably the biggest fan favorite in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla history. However, from the
2010 Battle of Los Angeles
to immediately before the 2011 tournament, the current Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion had a 2-7 win-loss record (the majority being tag team losses). Since the opening bell of the
2011 Battle of Los Angeles
, El Generico has gone an amazing 7-0, picking up the World Championship and besting arch-nemesis Kevin Steen twice along the way.

While El Generico entered 2012 with an astounding amount of momentum, there is one man that appears primed to derail the El Generico Express and defeat the World Champion, and that man is Eddie Edwards. Edwards handed El Generico his last significant singles defeat (at
All Star Weekend 8
- Night Two) and now looks to repeat his performance at
World's Finest
on March 17. Does Eddie Edwards have what it takes to return El Generico back to his losing ways, or will the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion kick off his reign by defeating the last man to beat him one-on-one?

. Finding a suitable opponent for O'Reilly was not difficult, as Davey Richards put his name on the top of that list months ago when he first heard O'Reilly would be debuting.

The dynamic between Davey Richards and Kyle O'Reilly is as unique as it is familiar. The teacher-student relationship in professional wrestling is a common one, however it is rare that the two are competing at a similarly high level, like Richards and O'Reilly find themselves now. Can Kyle O'Reilly follow in his mentor's footsteps and achieve a high level of success early on in his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla career? Or will Davey Richards prove to Kyle O'Reilly that he still has a way to go before he can call himself one of the World's Finest?

-- When Willie Mack met Roderick Strong for the first time ever in singles competition at
Card Subject to Change III
, many expected Willie to be starstruck. After all, Willie Mack had been following the career of Roderick Strong very closely, first as a fan of professional wrestling, then later as a fellow competitor. However, it was Roderick that was seeing stars, as Willie Mack brought the entirety of his high-powered offense to bear.

While Roderick Strong ultimately prevailed, the match served as a tremendous learning opportunity for Willie Mack, who now finds himself very close to his first-ever shot at the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Championship. A victory over a competitor like Roderick Strong would presumably put Willie Mack near the head of the line for a shot at the World Champion. While Roderick is still trying to recover from the loss at the hands of Masaaki Mochizuki at
Kurt Russellreunion 3
, a victory over Willie would help put him back on track in a big way.

I watch a lot of PWG, especially as of mid 2011. My favorite match is absolutely Super Dragon vs Kevin Steen, the Guerrilla Warfare. That was batshit crazy and one of the most insanely brutal matches I have ever seen. My other favorite matches are two Generico-Claudio matches from last year and some stuff from 2005 like Styles-Hero and Daniels-Hero. I'd recommend those to everyone, but those were on MU, so I don't know if you can find them somewhere. My second favorite company after Impact Wrestling.

As for the KurtRussellReunion, that was a great video. It even tops last Fear preview video. They do cool stuff with previews.

RECAP OF THE 2012 PRO WRESTLING GUERRILLA DDT4 TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT @ AMERICAN LEGION POST #308, RESEDA, CA, USA

A packed house was on hand for this year’s tournament, complete w/ some hard-hitting action, and Kevin Steen issuing an open challenge for the PWG World Championship. Unlike last month’s “World’s Finest” show, I didn’t take any chances and moved when I felt it was necessary. A few others, on the other hand, weren’t so lucky; even ringside photographer Devin Chen took a vicious shove from Sami Callihan.

Length: Approx. 3 hours

Referees: Rick Knox & Patrick Hernandez

Excalibur’s Guests at the Commentary Table: Rick Knox, Joey Ryan, Kevin Steen, & Roderick Strong

ROUND 1

1 - The RockNES Monsters (Johnny Yuma & Johnny Goodtime) def. The Fighting Taylor Boys (Ryan Taylor & Brian Cage-Taylor) when Johnny Yuma p. Brian Cage-Taylor w/ the Explosive Amnesia team finisher to end a very strong opener to the show.

2 - Future Shock (Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly) def. The Dynasty (Joey Ryan & Scorpio Sky) when Kyle O’Reilly p. Scorpio Sky w/ the “High-Low” Double-Lariat. The majority of the crowd on hand really tried to get into Joey Ryan’s head by chanting “L.A. Dodgers” to counter his “L.A. Angels of Anaheim” trunks.

3 - 2 Husky Black Guys (El Generico & Willie Mack) def. Roderick Strong & Sami Callihan when El Generico p. Roderick Strong w/ the Ground Brainbuster, despite Roddy & Sami’s efforts to pick apart Willie’s left knee. Afterwards, Sami Callihan grabbed the mic, and accepted Kevin Steen’s open challenge for the PWG Championship.

4 - The Super Smash Bros. (Player Uno & Stupefied) def. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) when Stupefied p. Matt Jackson w/ a Reversal Crucifix to surprise everyone in countering the More Bang For Your Buck while ending what was narrowly the best match of the 1st round IMO.

SEMIFINALS

5 - After intermission, 2 Husky Black Guys def. The RockNES Monsters when Willie Mack p. Johnny Yuma w/ the piledriver.

6 - The Super Smash Bros. def. Future Shock when Stupefied p. Kyle O’Reilly w/ the Fatality team finisher. SSB had to work their way out of a pair of submission finishers to get to the final outcome in what was the better semifinal match.

SM - Lone non-tournament match. Kevin Steen successfully defended the PWG World Championship, pinning Sami Callihan w/ the Package Piledriver to end a brutal singles match in which both men beat the stuffing out of each other. Sami Callihan got the “Please come back!” chant from the crowd.

M - DDT4 Final. The Super Smash Bros. def. 2 Husky Black Guys when Stupefied p. El Generico w/ the Fatality in what was the match of the night IMO. Player Uno & Stupefied didn’t have much time to celebrate, though, as The Young Bucks ran in and attacked both finalists, which only drew Kevin Steen to the ring from the commentary table.

If you ask me, the ladder for the PWG World Tag Team Championship should go like this: 1) The Super Smash Bros. in light of them winning this year’s DDT4, 2) The 2 Husky Black Guys, then 3) The Young Bucks. We’ll see where things go in the tag team division, especially as Super Dragon continues to heal up, and see if 1 or 2 more shows are held before July’s 9th Anniversary Show. In the meantime, who knows who will challenge Steen next for the singles title.

Crowd was psyched for this match which was said to be an amazing match. The ref got knocked down which led to Steen coming out to interfere. Cage got the F Cinq but Cage kicked out. About 5 more minutes back and forth until Elgin won with the Elgin Bomb. Steen attacked Cage but the Young Bucks came out to attack Steen. Rick Knox came out to help Steen & then El Generico came out also to make the save. Knox cuts a promo on the Bucks and challenges Cage and the Bucks to a six man with Generico as his partner tonight! Knox asked Steen to be the third but Steen gave Knox and Generico the middle finger.

Sami got a huge pop. Cole worked over the leg a lot. The crowd was apparently shocked at the finish.

BOLA Semi Final 2: Michael Elgin def Ricochet via Elgin bomb after a super Elgin bomb from the second rope to advance to the finals
Said to be a crazy match.

Rick Knox/El Generico/Kevin Steen def The Young Bucks and Brian Cage via
Kevin Steen showed up late in the match. Triple tope from Steen, Knox and Generico to the outside. Knox pinned one of the Bucks after Knox did an obaryion-esque top rope DDT followed by the package piledriver brainbustahhh combo. Steen and Generico teased a handshake but they flipped each other off instead and Steen smiled


BOLA 2012 Finals: Adam Cole def Michael Elgin via German suplex after a combo of strikes to become the 2012 BOLA WINNER
Cole cuts a heel promo afterward. He's not the future, he's the best today. He challenges Steen afterward. Steen confronts Cole. Steen tried to cut a promo before Adam attacked nailed him with the belt and left with the belt and trophy.
