To me it looks like he took an awkward step when the did a corner run spot and he immediately grabbed his knee either from the step or from it hitting the bottom turnbuckle. The way he moved around after and they rushed the finish felt like he blew out a ligament

Looked pretty legit to me, weird verbage tho almost like they're not convinced it isn't a work still so they're making sure it's known only Alvarez is saying it's legit lol

Hope he's good tho, dude looked like he was in a lot of pain

Genuinely stinks. I know some NJPW fans weren't happy with him getting a title match (non-main event too given the TK/Perry stuff happened after) but I was hoping that he and Mox would have put out a strong television match to soften those criticisms but his knee blew out on him. I've had knee issues since I was 10 with dislocations and multiple times it blew out on me. I'm surprised there weren't any torn ligaments when I went for an MRI once. I wish Hobbs a speedy recovery.

I agree Rosie and I feel like prior to this Hobbs had been putting on some pretty kick ass matches and had progressed nicely. a damn shame this timing absolutely stinks. the whole callis familly angle has cursed everyone it touches

Free Post: Powerhouse Hobbs Injury Update

Some more unfortunate news on Powerhouse Hobbs’ injury.
This past weekend, Fightful reported that Powerhouse Hobbs’ injury was a significant one. Fightful has learned that Hobbs requires surgery, which will be happening imminently, if it hasn’t already.

Hobbs sustained an injury last week on AEW Dynamite in his match against Jon Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. The match was cut short as a result. Shortly after, Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported the injury was legitimate one.
We wish Hobbs a speedy recovery.
