Andre Chase w Chase U V Xyon Quinn
Quinn dominated Chase in the night’s opening match and put an end to it with an Iron Claw Slam.

Backstage NXT Champion Bron Breaker was talking with NXT GM Shawn Michaels about issuing an a challenge for the NXT roster called the Bend or Break Challenge.

Essentially it comes down to any member of the men's roster would face Breaker in a non-title match and if they win then they earn a future title shot and Michaels agreed.

Apollo Crews V Zack Gibson w James Drake
Back from break and Apollo Crews went one on one with one half of the Grizzled Young Veterans Zack Gibson who had James Drake in his corner.
Crews got the win by knocking his opponent senseless with an Enzuigiri and then followed this by grabbing Gibson and hitting the Apollo Bomb for the pin.

Backstage NXT GM Shawn Michaels announced that Alba Fyre would face Zoey Stark with the winner challenging Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship at New Year’s Evil. He followed this up by announcing the winner of Roderick Strong versus Axiom would challenge Wes Lee for the NXT NA Championship at New Year’s Evil.

Strong hit a Double Knee Gutbuster and then dragged his opponent up and hit the Diamond’s Edge aka End of Heartache for the pin.

The current NXT NA Champion Wes Lee came out onto the stage and engaged in a stare down with Strong and the Diamond Mind.

NXT New Year’s Evil was announced for the 10th of January 2023 from the WWE Performance Centre.

Bron Breaker(c) versus Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship was announced as the main event of the event.

A 20 woman battle royal to crown a number one contender to the NXT Women’s Championship was announced for the event.

Wes Lee(c) versus Grayson Waller for the NXT NA Championship was announced for the event.

The New Day(c) versus the Creed Brothers, Gallus and the Grizzled Young Veterans for the NXT Tag Team Championships was announced for the event.

Two singles matches were the last two matches announced for the event, the first would see Andre Chase versus Xyon Quinn and the second was Apollo Crews versus Tyler Bate.
