WWE NXT NXT 2.05 Live Discussion Thread

Not really much of a kick off match I'd go out of my way to see tbh.
Facts.

I like that two guys that have been around since the beginning are getting their shots, but yeah, without Buddy and Cedric they're scrapping. They need to move some new faces to 205.

Not really much of a kick off match I'd go out of my way to see tbh.

I feel like they only ever get kickoff matches at the big 4 shows so this might just be a TV episode match. I'm cool with Daivari getting the title shot and being one of the top heels but I def don't think he should be winning the belt anytime soon. Also putting Otunga on commentary to replace Nigel when Aiden and Vic would have been fine :jp:

I'm the Doctor
Okay I just got finishing 205 Live this week and I'm really confused on what I saw throughout the Show so let's discuss it. Humberto vs Gulak was a fine Match I thought, and was both guys kept going it got better. I'm starting to wonder if Humberto with his Million Dollar smile will ever be able to live up to the hype WWE has given him? I don't want to say this name, but Essa Rios is someone that comes ot my mind. A very talented Wrestler with tons of potential, but for whatever reason he never found his groove as a Character. I hope that isn't the case and he comes outta his shell more and it seems Gulak is the perfect guy to do that for him.

I liked that Segment backstage with Mike/Maria with Brian/Tozawa. Tozawa vs Bennett Match have been good and with the added intensity hopefully means even better Matches.

Lorcan vs Darvari. Now I want to get this outta the way and say the Main Event was good, but I didn't like who was the winner of it. Lorcan had a milestone win over Alexander last week, one of the faces of the 205 Live and he takes the L vs Darvari? IF anything to have Lorcan win this Match turn Heel fully vs Nese and let Lorcan do his thing. Not to say Darvari won't be able to kill with Nese, but Lorcan losing makes me question if WWE considers Lorcan as a Champion and not just a good hand? Questions to think about going forward for me.

I think Daivari might just be that post-WrestleMania filler match for new champs WWE likes doing, could def see Lorcan challenging in the future in a bigger match

WWE 205 Live preview. April 30, 2019: Can Daivari replicate Nese’s success?

Last week on WWE 205 Live, Ariya Daivari defeated Oney Lorcan to earn the opportunity to challenge Tony Nese for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Like The Premier Athlete, Daivari has embraced a new outlook that has led to an impressive winning streak in recent weeks, but can he capture the Cruiserweight division’s ultimate prize?

Daivari sets his sights on Championship gold
Returning from an injury late last year and aligning himself with Hideo Itami, Ariya Daivari has a new attitude and outlook regarding his in-ring career. His alliance with Itami eventually came to a bitter end, but Daivari has since enjoyed a string of impressive victories, including a huge win against former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander. Continuing to build on his 2019 undefeated streak, Daivari defeated Oney Lorcan last week to claim a championship opportunity.

The Persian Lion’s rise and recent success mirrors that of WWE Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese. Befriending and training with former titleholder Buddy Murphy paid dividends for The Premier Athlete, as he too enjoyed a huge string of success, winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament and defeating Murphy for the title on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Daivari is Nese’s first challenger since The Premier Athlete captured the championship. Will Daivari continue his undefeated streak and end The Premier Athlete’s reign?

Don’t miss WWE 205 Live, tonight at 10/9 C, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network!
