On this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, The Rock assaulted Cody Rhodes at the end of the show, busting him open. It was the first time in a while that WWE used blood, especially with someone blading. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE has no plans to make blood use a regular part of programming, as it will continue to be used “very rarely.” It was said WWE isn’t planning to take an AEW-like approach, where blood is featured more prominently.

Vince McMahon in particular used to be against blood in recent years, and this is another sign that the thinking during Vince’s time is over.

The Rock was said to be given more leeway and was allowed to use it for his angle since he is one of the company’s top stars. This would apply to language as well, as Rock will “get to do pretty much what he wants.” However, as he continues to get away with more, it’s likely that at least other top stars will also be able to do more.

Top stars should be able to get a way with a little more, at least according to Jim Cornette. I don't know. I'd say WWE should ask fans what they want more. I think segments like that with blood can easily get over and hype most fueds.

Leave it to questionable "Wrestling journalists" and social media bubbles to try their absolute darndest to make something worthwhile out of a complete non-story.

Who is thinking that in relation to this story? Because that's bullshit. We have seen it time and time again that something Vince (supposedly) hates being used on rare occasions for a little bit of a "shock factor" in certain stories. Be it bad words, a specific move being used or whatever.

Plus, this was Rock and Cody. Even if Vince were around, there is a good chance this promo would've gone down the same way.

I'm pretty sure most wrestling fans are at the least bit ok with it when it's used at the right time, especially when used sparringly during matches to end high profile fueds involving top stars while obviously there's a small subset of wrestling fans are more squirmish and sensitive to it.

I'm a bit iffy of it being used in backstage segments. In my opinion, bleeding in wrestling is more shocking than in movies because it's actually real in wrestling. I definitely don't care to see it often. But because it's real in wrestling, it adds more intensity and drama to a match.

It just shouldn't be overdone like it is in some wrestling promotions.
