NFL Week One Discussion

Alright kids, football season begins anew tonight with last year's champ, Booty's Giants, taking on America's Team. Other than that one, there's a few other interesting games this weekend so if you're watching make sure to discuss it in here.

I'm looking forward to seeing how badly Houston beats Miami and to seeing my Steelers take down Peyton Manning on Sunday night. Also, I thought I'd post my lock and upset of the week for those that are interested.

Lock of the Week - Houston vs. Miami - No chance this is even close, the Dolphins are less than a laughing stock and Houston is elite. This is even worth a flier on the -12 spread.

Upset of the Week Chiefs vs. Falcons - If for no other reason than there's nothing else that jumps out at me as potential for a major upset, I think the Falcons being favoured is a little tough to swallow. First, they're nowhere near as good when they're on the road, Kansas City is always tough at home and finally, are a much better team than people give them credit for. I'd bet the +3 on the Chiefs all day here.

Yeah tonight is gonna be awesome sauce. I would love to see a repeat but I am not gonna be so bold as to assume that it's a lock that we repeat. I like the team but it's a long hard road.

I agree with Fuji's lock but my upset is gonna be the Browns over the Eagles. Vick is very injury prone and I just don't think the Eagles are very good.

I look forward to this season and hope that the NFL season sparks a lot of discussion here at Pulse.

You think the Browns are going to beat the Eagles straight up or just against the spread? I'm definitely skeptical of the -8 spread for Philly but while I do think the Eagles aren't very good I also think the Browns are very bad, potentially only the Dolphins are worse. Still, spotting Philly more than a touchdown on the road when they have a tough home matchup with the Ravens next week is a dangerous move. It's almost a classic trap game for the Eagles, regardless of the fact that their QB is a piece of filth.

The Browns have future star in Greg Little and a RB with a lot to prove, new QB, I dunno I am really just grabbing at straws...and I hate the Eagles

So do I, but I wonder if its just me hating on Vick or whether its the entire team? I'm going with the entire team.

Well as a Giants fan I must hate them. But they are cocky and overrated as fuck.

I hope you're wrong about the Falcons, anyway this is pretty awesome I might be here for the game tonight I'm not quite sure but glad the season is about to be really underway.

I'm watching the game tonight, because that's just what I do. I'm really interested in what Carolina does though, because they're my boys and all. My fear is that they lay an egg in Tampa, but wow does Ryan Kalil have my expectations up there. I'm not so sure that I trust them enough to have hopes at a playoff berth in a stacked NFC, but damn would it be nice to return to the playoffs. If Cam Newton plays near the same level as last year, I would count it as a win. If he plays smarter, I may be sold on him long term.

Giants running game looks a bit anemic right now and I can't recall Dallas being that good against the run. Hopefully they make some adjustments on offense at the half to compliment that nasty D they've got out there right now.
