Packers need to get younger on defense and they need to free up money to resign bigger stars. Woodson was making 8 million a year, he wasn't going to be back. He could end up in Denver or New England.

Packers need to get younger on defense and they need to free up money to resign bigger stars. Woodson was making 8 million a year, he wasn't going to be back. He could end up in Denver or New England.

Not so much younger, just bigger and stronger. Too many guys just aren't physical enough. Missing Desmond Bishop (and also Nick Collins, who's gone for good) all last season didn't help, but it is what it is.

Hope Woodson does well, gonna miss seeing him in the secondary, but he was pretty much a non-factor for most of last season due to injury. Right time to part ways.

I'd take Woodson in Philly as long as we go get another good safety to play alongside him.... Could be a good influence on a guy like Rogers-Cromartie

Just heard on NFLN the Vikings will play the 2014-15 seasons outdoors at the University of Minnesota's stadium while their new dome stadium is being built. Get ready for some epic snow games there next year.

The term overrated gets thrown around a lot but it really fits with him. Hasn't shown anything in Philly to back the hype he got in Oakland as a supposed shutdown corner.

Wouldn't seeing Woodson in Detroit. We need safety's and he is practically worshiped here for his time at U-M. Also wouldn't be shocked if Freeney goes to NE.

So the Chiefs gave a 2013 second-round draft pick and 2014 conditional pick to acquire Alex Smith.

This deal has been in the making all week, it was just a matter of what the Chiefs would give up to get him.

I don't usually write-off trades like this so soon, but I really don't expect Smith to shake things up too much in Kansas City and I think the Chiefs should have got him for a lot less than a second rounder. Another team in more dire need of a QB was probably offering the Niners a similar deal and the Chiefs were probably forced into this deal, but for a team with such little need for Smith as the Niners are, getting a second round pick for him is a great deal.
