Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

I will say that this is a much easier series with David West. The fact is Pau struggles versus Landry in the Rockets series when he got the minutes that Yao were getting because he is too strong and quick for him. With west and Yao, all he had to do was check jump shooters who he was quicker than.

You're overthinking this one.

Not really. Calling Pau soft is easy, but if you watch Pau versus Boozer, Yao, and West for multiple games he has every advantage he wants be it size, length, or quickness. You watch him versus guys like Milsap and Landry on all 3 of his teams, he struggles. They push him out his comfort zone on offense and rebounding position, before the initial catch and then make him run and move his feet on defense instead of letting him use his length to alter their shots. He struggles with that, whereas that is where Lamar thrives and how come those guys go off less on him. After 2 series and regular season games, it is safe to say it is a bad matchup.

You're saying that the Hornets are better off without their second best player, their best scorer. They managed to miraculously win two games relying on Paul to do everything and watching their bigs hit some lucky shots. They need West's offense. You're overthinking this one.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

I'm saying Pau specifically matches up better with West than Landry. Pau is the main guy who has seen a dramatic drop. If West was there then Landry would be the bench big who Odom primarily matches up with, and in both this and the Houston series Odom has had scrawled time against him because he is stronger, quicker, and can put the ball on the floor better. Pau has had his way with West even in Memphis because he is just a jump shooting big who doesn't bang on either end and is bothered by length.

Some time match ups matter and that is seen when Pau plays jump shooting bigs like Boozer, Dirk, Yao, West, KG, and Duncan versus bruisers like Landry, Zach, Marc, Hayes, and Perkins. He just let's them take him out of his game more by keeping him away from his comfort zones which hurts him because his rebounding, defense, and confidence come from his scoring.

As it stands now, I would like to see Kobe and Pau use the pick and roll to get him asy looks, but as Phil has said, he isn't going to play that card this early in the playoffs

nice sweep, would be nicer if they didn't play the worst team in the playoffs. they'll beat heat in 6, something needs tobe done about the bench.

Gained more respect for Kobe today.

He refused to let the Lakers doctors or outside doctors give him a MRI on his foot and ankle because the results will be made public. Ireland said Kobe told him point blank there will be no excuses allowed for him or his teammates and that he was willing to put everything on the line if need be to send Phil out the way he deserves.

Kobe is like a religion to you it seems so didn't even know it was possible for you to respect him more than you already did to be honest.

Good, I hope he shortens his career to lose in the WCF.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

I picked the Griz to win in 6, but I've never seen SA just quit like they did today. Even when they were getting swept they competed harder. Sad to watch that, but Pop is to blame for not developing Splitter and pushing for the Scola trade

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

This Denver/OKC game has been pretty exciting to watch. Looks like Denver will live to fight another day at this rate.

No you didn't. Nice try.

I still can't get over how dumb it is to refuse to have an MRI done because the "results might be made public."

Sal just vomited a little, lol

Six and a half years since the infamous Pacers-Pistons brawl, Ron Artest has won the NBA’s longest-running citizenship and community-service award.
