He wasn’t the type of heel who made you want to see comeuppance, he was the guy Heel or Face that made you change the channel.
JBL was a great champion - had a character that made sense.
So many heels could've made john cena. Jbl was not a credible main eventer hence why both him and benoit had careers til 2007 and never had another reign. Are people saying Benoit made orton in 2004? Lol
SO many heel could have - but they didn't. JBL did. Buzz Aldrin could of been the first man to walk on the moon - but he wasnt.
Plus Orton was really made by The Undertaker rivalry - that helped define him.
JBL didn’t do anything but lay down. Cena got himself over with that rapper gimmick.
JBL didn’t draw as a heel or face.
He didn’t do his job, they changed the channel, he lost viewers.
The heels job is to draw heat, they’re supposed to help the babyface draw more viewers and money with their heat, making the audience want to watch them get their comeuppance.
Viewers left, they didn’t care if JBL got comeuppance nor did he draw heat and increase or even maintain viewers. he lost viewers.... lol

They went up for John Cena being champion, no one cared about JBL’s comeuppance or his reign because he didn’t draw heat and made viewers tune out, they only cared about John Cena being champion, JBL was irrelevant and they didn’t start watching until AFTER he lost, meaning they didn’t give a shit about his comeuppance, they started watching again when they saw John Cena as world champion and main focus ... lol
