Major WWE PPV might be getting ‘scrapped’

WWE may be scrapping a major PPV event and moving the gimmick match associated with it to WrestleMania next year.

According to sources, there have been discussions within WWE regarding the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event and scrapping it in 2023.

Money in the Bank was previously a highlight match of WrestleMania in the past, and it may well be making its way back to the biggest event of the year.

Is WWE scrapping the Money in the Bank event?

From what we have discovered, these are just early talks, and there is nothing definitively in place with regard to actually getting rid of the MITB event.

If the company does actually decide to get rid of MITB, then it would be a big shift in terms of the ‘Big 5’ PPV events, as it was being considered as a major show alongside WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and Survivor Series.

There is a chance that the company decides to keep MITB on the lineup for their Premium Live Events in 2023, although other outlets have been claiming that some big changes are coming.

Could Money in the Bank being scrapped be one of those major changes? We will have to wait and see at this point.

Not a source i've heard of before and it just sounds like speculation based off of the report that they were looking into changing the PLE schedule for 2023. While I did love MITB on the WrestleMania card, I feel like it's more than worthy of being a standalone PLE.

If they were to get rid of the PPV, I wouldn’t be against it. Was another thing. That made Mania feel special.

But I feel like if they’re dead set on doing 2 MITB matches a night, might as well just keep the show as a stand-alone.

Either way, it’s whatever to me

I've said a lot that I'd much prefer them going back to doing the gimmick at Mania. Was an easy way to get people on the card in a great match that was a nice tradition

But I'd be surprised, they seem to be pushing it as almost the 5th in a Big Five the last few years

Trying to figure out this life thing, what about you
Yeah I also loved MITB being at Mania too. It's still a great PPV on its own though, but it would for sure get me even more excited for Mania events. Ladder matches are just really fun and a great way to get a lot of good talent involved.

Ladder matches never deserved their own PPV. Reel this back to 'Mania if you're gonna keep doin' it.
