Something he THEN could take from Jey himself, cause he just fucked over the one person who he could count on if he wanted to go after Roman. Now he's got no one, at all.

By letting Jey win the title it’s not guaranteed that Jimmy would beat him for it. By screwing him out of the title, even if he loses to him in the future at least he can say he prevented him from winning the title
