Dreams are Endless
Last night's fast national ratings saw WWE SmackDown average 1.859 million viewers on FOX, down 3.6% from last week's show that was headlined by a Hell in a Cell Universal title match between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio.

SmackDown finished last among the major networks in terms of total viewers and also had Game 2 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals airing on TNT against the majority of the show. Cable ratings are not available until next week.

The show finished second on the networks in the money demo with a 0.5 rating, identical to last week. It trailed the Olympic trials on NBC, which averaged a 0.7 rating.

Year over year, SmackDown was down 14.5% in total viewers but was even in the 18-49 demo from the overnight ratings one year ago this week.

Here's a look at the last 11 weeks of SmackDown overnight viewership and 18-49 demo numbers on FOX:

So they should have advertised him 8 times during the show is what you're saying? With multiple video packages I assume

Friday night's episode of SmackDown averaged 1.971 million viewers on Fox, down 3.3 percent from the previous week. It was still the second-best number for the show since May 7.

In the 18-49 demo, SmackDown drew a 0.54 rating, the same number as the previous week. The actual number of viewers in 18-49 was very slightly up with 704,000 for this episode as compared to 700,000 for the previous week, but both round to the same rating number.

The previous week's show was headlined by a Universal Championship Hell in a Cell match between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio, so this episode would be expected to be down.

Year-over-year, SmackDown was down 9.3 percent in overall viewers. In the 18-49 demo, the rating was up eight percent from the same week last year. The actual number of viewers in 18-49 was up 2.8 percent from last year.

Here's a look at the last 11 weeks of SmackDown overall viewership and 18-49 demo numbers, along with the 10-week average. This week was above the recent average in 18-49 but down in overall viewers:
