Last night's SmackDown on Fox averaged 2.047 million viewers in the fast nationals, up 7.2 percent from last week's overnight number.

The audience was consistent throughout the show, averaging 2.043 million viewers in hour one and climbing slightly to 2.05 million in the second hour.

With the Olympics on NBC averaging nine million viewers to lead the way, Fox finished third among the major networks in viewership, beating repeat programming on CBS but trailing ABC.

In the 18-49 demo, SmackDown averaged a 0.55 rating. The show drew a 0.5 rating in hour one and a 0.6 in hour two. That was up 10 percent from last week's overnight number, and it beat everything else on the networks except for the Olympics.

Year-over-year, SmackDown was up 4.7 percent in overall audience from the overnight numbers from this week in 2020. It was up 10 percent year-over-year in the 18-49 demo.

As compared to the 10-week average prior to this week, as shown in the chart below, SmackDown was up 8.2 percent in overall audience and up 17 percent in 18-49, meaning that the audience is trending younger. Most of this 10-week time period was prior to WWE's return to touring, which is the reason for the recent ratings increase.
