Truth being a certified referee actually makes so much sense with his 24/7 shenanigans lmao

Monday night's WWE Raw rebounded from last week's Fourth of July episode, but it came in lower than the prior weeks where Vince McMahon and John Cena had boosted the audience, to deliver a number that probably reflects what a normal show would do right now.

Last night's Raw averaged 1.71 million viewers overall, drew a 0.44 rating in 18-49, and drew a 0.31 in 18-34.

It was first by a wide margin for the night on cable, as well as first in every key demo including beating Below Deck in women 18-49. In 18-34 it doubled every show on cable except Miz & Mrs.

Raw also beat three of the four major networks in 18-49 and 18-34, losing only to The Bachelorette on ABC. It also lost to one Spanish-language show on Univision.

Raw was ninth in total viewers on cable behind eight news shows.

The show started lower than usual in the first hour, but had very strong growth in hour two.

The rise from July 4 was nine percent in viewers, 19 percent in 18-49, and 19 percent in 18-34.

Raw remains well up from last year at this time, where it was doing some of the lowest numbers in its history. Last night's show was up six percent in viewers year-over-year, up three percent in 18-49, and up 11 percent in 18-34. Factoring in the drop of cable homes, the realistic growth would be 13 percent in viewers, 10 percent in 18-49, and 16 percent in 18-34.

The positive is that the show held the audience so people were interested in sticking through hour three with the Bobby Lashley & Riddle vs. Theory & Seth Rollins main event.

In fact, with people 18-49, the first hour was the lowest rather than the highest. Women 18-49 grew 13 percent from the first hour to the third, men 18-49 fell just two percent, while females 12-34 grew 30 percent and males 12-34 grew four percent. People over 50 dropped eight percent from hour one to three.

With the stronger third hour of Raw, Miz & Mrs did great numbers with 669,000 viewers and a 0.20 in 18-49, similar to what it did a few weeks ago following the monster Raw numbers.

Miz & Mrs placed seventh for the night on cable and easily won its time slot over second place Gutfeld on Fox News at 0.12. It was up 39 percent in viewers and 43 percent in 18-49 from July 4.

Raw's three hours were:
  • 8 p.m. 1.72 million viewers
  • 9 p.m. 1.80 million viewers
  • 10 p.m. 1.69 million viewers

So since they said Raw is still well up on last year, I decided to have a quick look at what was happening at this point last year.

  1. Money in the bank edition of MizTV
  2. John Morrison def. Ricochet by count-out
  3. Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Eva Marie & Doudrop def. Nikki A.S.H., Alexa Bliss, Asuka & Naomi
  4. Mustafa Ali def. Mansoor
  5. Drew McIntyre def. Jinder Mahal by disqualification
  6. Lucha House Party def. MACE & T-BAR
  7. Riddle def. AJ Styles
  8. Jaxson Ryker & R-Truth def. Cedric Alexander & Elias
  9. Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods def. Bobby Lashley & MVP

Shit was really rough out here :mj4

Yeah Thunderdome by the pictures, which really confuses me at times because of them having partial fans at the Mania.

Yeah it was fans for Mania and then none again until the MITB, was the weirdest purgatory where it felt like they were clearly just on autopilot until MITB, Raw at least for sure

That period when there were no crowds and just screens showing people in front of their computers, it seems like it's from another life now.
