Some legal updates on WWE star Liv Morgan's criminal case in Sumter County, Florida.

On 1/2, the more serious charge against Morgan, possession of drugs, possibly synthetic cannabinoid, was dropped from the criminal case against her. There is no word yet as to why the charge was dropped, but as PWInsider.com previously reported, the word making the rounds in WWE (backed by the arrest report) was that Morgan had stated the vape pen found in her vehicle was not her property. That charge, a felony in Florida, could have been punishable by up to a maximum of one year in jail, up to one year of probation and a $1,000 fine.

Morgan's remaining charge, possession of marijuana (not more than 20 grams) was transferred to the County's Misdeameanor Court Division. Her scheduled arraignment on Monday 2/12 at the Sumter County Courthouse has been canceled. Instead, there will be a status conference related to her remaining charge on 2/20.

The charge of possession of marijuana (not more than 20 grams) is a first degree misdemeanor in Florida. It can be punishable up to one year in jail or on probation, along with a $1,000 fine. Conviction of possession also results in a six month driving license suspension, random drug testing, and all the reimbursement of all fees related to the sentence.

As PWInsider.com previously reported, there was no heat on Morgan from WWE management in the wake of the arrest.

LIV MORGAN CRIMINAL CASE IN FLORIDA CLOSED

By Mike Johnson on 2024-02-06 15:41:00
WWE star Liv Morgan’s criminal case in Sumter County, Florida has been officially closed, PWInsider.com can confirm.

Morgan was arrested in December 2023 during a traffic stop and Morgan was arrested for possession of marijuana (not more than 20 grams), possession of drug equipment and possession of drugs, possibly synthetic cannabinoid after a sheriff's deputy saw the yellow jeep she was operating crossing over the white and yellow lines of a County Road.

The most serious charge against Morgan, possession of drugs, possibly synthetic cannabinoid, was dropped last month because the State of Florida had no way of proving its case. An Assistant State Attorney in Sumter County told KOMONews, “In order to prove the charge possession of THC, the State is required to prove that the THC came from synthetic sources and was not derived from plant sources. No labs in the State of Florida perform such tests, so we remanded it to county court as Possession of Cannabis.”

According to the arrest report, when a Sumter County Deputy approached Morgan's vehicle "the odor of marijuana was detected."

Although Morgan was slated for a 2/20 hearing in regard to the only charge left pending from her arrest, The charge of possession of marijuana (not more than 20 grams), PWInsider.com has learned that on 1/31, Morgan’s attorney entered a plea of Nolo-Contendere in regard to the charge. That is a plea in which a defendant accepts conviction as though a guilty plea had been entered against them, but does not officially admit guilt to the charges against them.

PWInsider.com is told that a fine was imposed against Morgan. Court records list an assessment of $543.00, but not any additional fines. Court records only refer to a fine being imposed.

As PWInsider.com previously reported, there was no heat on Morgan from WWE management in the wake of the arrest. Morgan returned to WWE from a shoulder injury at the 2024 Royal Rumble and is expected to perform at the WWE Elimination Chamber event later this month in Perth, Australia.

I got scared for a moment when I saw this bumped. Glad to see the charges on her were dismissed.
