Re: Official Soccer (Football) Discussion Thread

How does too much confidence come into your mind when you see a keeper make a mistake like that, it was obviously nerves, I know first hand after making a similar mistake in net in a big game (well it was about as big as you can get as a 13 year old). If it was too much confidence he would not be phased by the mistake but he was clearly determined to redeem himself after the mistake, just look at when he came about 40 yards out of his net to retrieve the ball. You are really making England out to be a cocky team with no heart but if you lived in this country you would realise how much it kills every Englishman that we have only won one World Title of the game that we created. Btw, in the words of James Cordon, we drew our first match in 66 so we are still gonna win the World Cup.

Rooney was fuckig gold that match, J. By far, the MVPs were Rooney and Landon Donovan.

Donovan is the American Soccer god.

No way, Tim Howard single handedly got America a draw. Easily M.V.P after an uninspiring England and a lukewarm America. Howard was the difference between an England win and a draw.

Re: Official Soccer (Football) Discussion Thread

There was a little bit of luck in it. The terrible mistake by Green let Howard score. Having England score early on and have possesion for the bulk of the game doesn't show how Howard is more than a hero than Landon Donovan. Howard shot a goal and Green took the one in a million chance and missed it.

Maybe it was America's poor defense and shoddy marking that allowed the one-two between Heskey and Gerrard. Donovon made some good crosses and looked lively, but Howard's saves got them the draw.

Mat, Howard is the goalkeeper, seriously Mat learn your own team. And btw Gerrard was easily the MAN OF THE MATCH Donavon can be MVP but Gerrard was MAN OF THE MATCH.

Gerrard looked lively, but I still think Howard was better. Gerrard's goal was because they let him run on and get the ball back from Heskey.
