Vocal minority wouldn't and evidently still haven't.....
Yeah first he was taken off because of anxiety then came back but was injured shortly after. While he was injured, all the crap came out about his homophobic comments and porn career. It was rumored that WWE wouldn't bring him back from his injury but they did for like a few months then released him anyway
Anxiety Larz was born because he was poised to work Cena.
Then the posts from some Web forum arose.....injury.....then gay porn emerged......
None of this can be blamed on creative and whatnot.
Could've been used to show how people can change from being hateful to become a better person......but he wrote mean words on some forum......unforgivable.
But during his first main roster run before any of that crap came out they were fucking him up

Pretty sure he put them all out in that little angle......
The feud went on too long. It started out with Sullivan destroying them but eventually they were able to get the upperhand on him. At super showdown he beat them by DQ and then got injured a few days later. Throughout this, he was cutting promos that went on too long and parodied nursery rhymes.
