King of The Ring to return as WWE UK exclusive

According to PWInsider WWE is in talks with ITV to air the WWE UK weekly show that will be called "King of The Ring"

I'm all for bringing back the title of King of the Ring if they can back it up.

At this point, KOTR is a dead concept. Last person that won it and had it actually help them was Regal and that almost 10 years ago.

Hopefully it's just a wrestling show cause these guys have had some of the best matches this company has produced all year

There's not much known in the detail department, but I believe they're simply naming their WWE UK show "King of the Ring" and I agree. I don't think it needs to be another tournament. I think it works as a UK brand name.

Makes sense as a title but just given the extensive legacy of the King of the Ring tournament, I'd say it's an unexpected decision to name an unrelated weekly show the same name.

KOTR was a favorite of mine, but I think if it's just going to collect dust and not be used properly even when it does see the light of day, it's better off being used to prop up a new brand. I think these kids have earned it.

Agree that the KOTR has run its course as a concept. I will watch this if it does air over here. I think it might flop. Interest in Wrestling is the lowest its been in awhile. But then there could be extra interest in a different market.

Not a bad idea... We will see how that turns out. But probably having this tournament this year and giving it to Neville -you know he is the KING of Cruiserweights and he would have gone to be King of WWE. Then you could have a "bridge" between main roster and CW division, so that you can have new match ups for Raw -having divisions so seperated from each other make no benefit. Also you would escalate Neville and give his own thing, while creating a new CW star. BUT NO! Aries gone, Neville gone... That's another story but still... I really wished to see KoTR this year and Neville as winner.

I agree. Keep your Network special show, have your CW division but just don't get them seperated from roster.

Agreed, and especially let both Raw and SDL talents work it. Have random appearances of guys as high up on the card as say Finn Balor to show the CW division is below the others.

That adds new match up, excitement and probably more viewers. But WWE is like "nah, just keep it simple and boring."

WWE does like simple. It's not always a bad thing except for when it is.
