Slam! Wrestling is reporting there was an incident in India earlier today involving former WWE World champion The Great Khali where his bodyguard shot into a crowd as Khali was arriving at the home of a Deputy Speaker of the Punjab State Assemby, Satpal Gosain.

Khali, who had been invited to visit with Gosain as Gosain's son is a big Khali fan, was besieged by fans looking for autographs as he arrived. The Slam! report noted that Khali's bodyguard was "hostile" towards the fans and began shoving at the crowd, including physically attacking "a boy." When others tried to intercede, the bodyguard pulled a gun and shot into the crowd.

Khali is said to have fled the scene.

There were said to have been three "serious" injuries stemming from the incident, which was picked up by one of India's 24 hour news channels, Aaj Tak.

I had completely forgotten that Khali was still a part of the WWE roster. Crazy news story if true, there were probably hundreds of people there so maybe they needed more security rather than shooting into the crowd. Isn't Khali a police officer as well? I doubt there will be any problems over this issue. Hopefully it means he stays in India for a bit longer.

I just had to lol at this. Khali is clearly loved in india I mean they go crazy everytime he is spotted so imo he should be protected by 4 cars blocking him in or something. As for the shooting, wow, clearly the bodyguard is stupid. What's the point in shooting people clearly there just excited fans.

The Great Khali Involved in a Shooting Incident in India

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- WWE Superstar The Great Khali and his bodyguard were involved in a shooting at the home of an Indian politician Friday, according to the Aaj Tak news channel in India and Slam Wrestling. Khali was invited to the home of the politician as his grandson is a big fan.

Fans gathered outside of the home waiting for Khali. Children approached for Khali when he arrived to get photos and autographs but according to eyewitnesses, including the politician’s relatives, Khali’s bodyguard was hostile from the start, shoving children as they approached Khali. His bodyguard then allegedly grabbed a boy and beat him down. People tried to get the boy from Khali’s bodyguard and that’s when he started shooting into the crowd. Three people were seriously wounded in the incident.

Khali reportedly fled the scene but last word was that no charges have been filed and the Ludhiana police are being quiet on the matter.

Khali has been in India filming the reality show Big Boss and was set to return to WWE soon.
I lol'd, and since it is India, I doubt much will come from this. Atleast thats what the one guy from India told me, he was going to visit from big wig and stuff.

TMZ.com ran the following quote from former WWE World champion The Great Khali:

""I am deeply saddened to hear of this incident and am disappointed it has been incorrectly reported that I was involved. I had left my friend's house a half an hour before the reported shooting took place and did not have any bodyguards with me. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people who were injured."
For those of you keeping track, that's now the THIRD version of the story that has been floated about. My personal guess is that unless some video footage pops up, we'll likely never know the true story.

Nothing will come of this since there is no clear story about what happened. Plus Khali is such a huge star even if he was there and involved nothing would have happened to him. Might make him want to come back to the US soon back to WWE.

Surprise return at the Rumble?

Oh I totally forget there was already a thread up. I don't even remember posting in it.

Just seems like Khali needs to get better bodyguards. Some that are not children haters.

What security threat do children possess? snotty noses?

Khali doesn't even need bodyguards, the guy is a giant and a swing of his arm could stop half a dozen people in their tracks. Or if it gets really serious he can unleash his chops on them.

He killed a guy with those chops. True story.

Also he is a cop, since when do cops need bodyguards?

Exactly. Wouldn't he just get a police escort since he is part of the police force over there?

Something fucky is going on with this story.

Maybe it's just a cover up thing using a celebrity.

Pakistan had a bodyguard assassinating a government official a few weeks ago. Maybe samesies in India.

Yeah the story just doesn't seem right, something else is going on here. Probably never find out though because I doubt that everyone in India has a mobile phone that is capable of recording everything whereas if it was in the US there would already be a dozen videos of the situation on the net.
