John Cena Continues Endorsement Deal, Knocks Off Popular Character

Crippler

Prove me wrong
John Cena will be replacing Fred Flintstone on 4 million Fruity Pebbles boxes for a limited-edition promotion.
"We've just been talking with kids. They wanted more variety," said Sharon Pupel, who is a marketing director with Post. "Fred isn't necessarily the … coolest or [most] relevant guy for kids who we are going after."

The promotion follows last year's WWE - Fruity Pebbles tie-in, where Cena was featured on the top of the box of the cereal while Fred Flintstone was in the front. This time, he'll be replacing the iconic cartoon character altogether. Cena may also return to the cover of the cereal in the fall when school is back in session.

Executive Vice President of Sales & Partnership Marketing Andrew Judelson said that the partnership is the result of the company's directive to move to PG, and that other deals are in the works. Judelson stated that they recently signed a deal for a promotion with Colgate-Palmolive's Irish Spring soap.

From a marketing standpoint, it makes sense. The marketing director said it herself, Fred Flinstone isn't the most revelant or well known guy to have on a box of cereal if you want to sell. You don't have to be a wrestling fan to know who John Cena is. I'm sure people will buy boxes just cause his face is on it. Good business move

If only we could get a Cologne out there called "Possum Piss" and slap Wigger Jorts' face on it. Now THAT would sell.

Maybe he could have 2 brands of cologne, "Hot Garbage" and "Possum Piss". Marketability out the wazoo!

They dont sell fruity pebbles in Canada anymore. I use to be upset about this. Not anymore

John Cena making another million, may as well use him if he resonates with more kids than Fred Flinstone.

Any kid who doesn't know who Fred Flinstone is fails at childhood.

I used to rush home everyday from school, bolt into the living room just so I could watch Dexter's Laboratory, The Jetsons and The Flintstone's on Cartoon Network. (My country's version.) And those were some of the best days of my life. *sniffles*

Cena agreed to have a face on a box that says "Fruity Pebbles"? 4 million of them? Wow.
