TNA tag champion Jeff Hardy suffered a broken leg in a recent dirt bike accident, according to TNA president Dixie Carter.

Carter tweeted Tuesday night: "@JEFFHARDYBRAND just suffered a broken leg in a dirt bike accident. Will provide more details once they are known."

TNA later released video purported to be Hardy crashing hard on an attempted jump.

The handheld video shows the bike rider setting up for a jump, then missing the landing spot, and smashing into the dirt. "Oh s---," the video operator shouted before running toward the crash.

TNA has not released details yet on the severity of the reported injury.

Independent contractors....he did this kind of stuff while in WWE, but they had the balls to take incentives away if he even thought of doing real stupid shit...unlike this company of enablers.

The first time the guy gets seriously injured while a pro wrestler is outside of the ring. I remember watching the Hardy Boyz dvd and Jeff was saying he has been fortunate enough to not sustain any serious injuries and in that same dvd it shows him riding motocross. I figured this would be how it happened. Maybe with his time away he'll leave. Take Matt. Make one last run in the 'E and go out in style as NXT trainers or some shit.
