I just got an iPod nano MP3 and I have some old songs that I put on it. Installation is not the same as the old MP3 files, you can simply click and drag music files into folders labeled Music or something like that. Do you have iTunes to put music on iPod nano? If you can take existing music files on my computer there, without having to buy new?
