In Ring Segment: Triple H

Triple H makes his way to the ring, we have King and Matthews on the commentary team, Cole missing. Triple H plays up to the crowd. He talks about the test of time and doing everything there is to do, every title, defining specialty matches. 13x WWE Champion. Talks about DX, playing up to his entire career. Evolution. He comes to the only thing he’s never done, Undertaker… WrestleMania. He plays up to this “Last Outlaw” reference, and calls himself an outlaw. He compares himself to Taker. Talks about no test left for either, and Taker lives year-to-year for the streak. Triple H claims himself the only true challenge left for the streak, and his only challenge left is ending the streak. Triple H says it will happen at WrestleMania 27. He talks to the sign as if it’s Taker. He says when the Streak dies, Taker dies. And at WM, Triple H only has the streak left, and if he can’t end it, he’ll die trying.

Sheamus comes out and points at Triple H… WE’LL HAVE THE FACE OFF!

Triple H kicks him immediately and takes Sheamus to the outside and beats him down. Triple H is destroying him. Hunter puts Sheamus on the announce table and gets up and Pedigrees Sheamus through the table. SQUASH COMPLETE!

Come back from commercial and Sheamus is only finally being helped out. GM buzzes in. Jerry up to address. He says Sheamus being attacked isn’t his problem, scheduled to have a match, and still going to have it, against Evan Bourne!!!

Match 1: Evan Bourne vs. Sheamus

Bourne beating Sheamus down in the corner. Sheamus hit with a spin kick. Air Bourne. Quick pin.

Winner: Evan Bourne
Match Rating: *½ (boost for the early return of Bourne)

Teased with the return of Michael Cole who gets brought out as the Voice of Monday Night Raw. Cole addresses Lawler about WrestleMania. Come back from commercial to replay of last week. Cole in the ring, addressing King, he calls Lawler into the ring. Reminds Lawler he cant be striked. He asks Lawler if he thinks he was intimidated. He says nobody has more guts than him, and that he never backs down from a fight, so his answer to the WrestleMania challenge, is no… unless Lawler accepts 2 conditions. If Cole can have his trainer in his corner at WrestleMania, and if he gets to choose a special guest referee for the match. Lawler takes the match, calls him Cole Sore and says he can bright the Dark Knight, King Kong, Saba Simba, and Superman. The answer is yes. He hypes up the match at WrestleMania, he’s excited. He introduces his trainer – Jack Swagger. Swagger gets in Jerry’s face, and Cole shoves him. Cole slaps Jerry, who tries to wrestle through Swagger. Swagger locks in the ankle lock. Held it in for a while, Swagger celebrates with Cole. Come back from commercial and Cole is sanitizing the headset.

In-Ring Segment: Randy Orton and CM Punk

Orton comes out, getting a decent reception, and he talks to Punk about being right last week about punting Punk 2 years ago. He says he made a mistake, he should have kicked Punk harder. He talks down faith and threatens to snap and break Punk’s spine and neck and leave him in a rehab center praying to walk again. He says the only thing he’ll have left is the faith that failed him. Decent promo by Orton as he is interrupted by Punk’s music. Punk comes out with Nexus and calls Orton arrogant but predictable, a hypocrite. He tells him he wanted him to show up and says he’ll put Orton in the ground. Nexus coming to the ring but the GM chimes in. Josh hits the laptop, and there’s only one way for Orton and Punk to settle things. A match at WM. Orton will fight against Nexus over the next few weeks, and if the Nexus members win, they win the right to be in the corner of Punk at Mania. If any of them interfere in these matches, Nexus will be disbanded.

Match 2: Randy Orton vs. Michael McGillicutty

Orton gains momentum early and Super Orton kicks in. McGillicutty crawls out of the way of a knee, gains momentum, Orton dumps him over the ropes. We go to commercial. Back and McGillicutty has control. Couple near-falls. Beating Orton down in the corner. Orton fighting out, cut off. McGilicutty with a nice flip-over neckbreaker from the second rope. Crowd cheering Orton on, he fights out with a backdrop. Orton coming back with his clotheslines and powerslam. Backbreaker. Hangman’s DDT. Stalking… RKO. Pin and the win.

Winner: Randy Orton
Match Rating: **

Orton backs off of the turnbuckle and eyes McGillicutty looking like he wants to hit the punt. Punk comes out and tells Orton to stop. Tells him he doesn’t want to punt him. Nobody wants to see the punt, crowd goes wild. He gets loud telling him not to punt him. Orton going crazy, and punts McGillicutty… and takes off through the crowd.

In-Ring Segment: The Miz, John Cena

Miz talks about the Rock and how this isn’t his show, and how he used to be the biggest star, then John Cena was the biggest star, but their days are over. Miz is now the biggest star in the WWE. He is the reason the people are here tonight. He is the one the talk shows want. He’s the face of the company. He’s the most must-see WWE Champion in the history of the company. It’s all about The Miz. Miz says he won the titles, and Cena lost them. Miz calls it his show and says he controls everything. He says Cena shouldn’t be worrying about The Rock and rapping, he needs to worry about The Miz. Miz says Rock and Cena can do what they want, and says he’ll beat Cena at WrestleMania, and on the very same night, he will beat The Rock. He says they’ll be buried and he’ll be the only one talked about ever again.

Out comes Cena, to no pop. Some heat. A couple of females screaming. Cena says he can’t listen to anymore of The Miz. Cena says The Miz is not well. He pulls out a “doctor’s note” that diagnoses The Miz with OCD. He says Miz is obsessed with being Awesome. He says Miz is below average. He’s obsessed with being must-see, but you need a microscope to see him. He says Miz has over 200 cats, has 1000 pairs of blue dockers, pees in milk jugs, and saves dog-shit bags. He says when he has free-time he locks himself in a closet and eats toilet paper.

Alex Riley pulls a horrible line about toilet bowls being names John’s and Cole hates on him. Cena backs up to Miz and asks Miz if he ever wonders why nobody takes him serious as champ. He says A-Ri is a sad story and talks like he’s not there. Cena tells Miz if he wants a legacy, he needs to do it by himself. He says if Miz wants to be must-see and talked about… tells Miz to fire Alex Riley so WrestleMania can be The Miz vs. John Cena.

Miz asks Cena if he’s scared of Alex Riley and trying to play mind-games. He says he’s mentoring the next generation of superstars. And he doesn’t need to sell merchandise or decide what jorts to wear. Cena calls Miz and A-Ri co-champions and says they’ll move in together buying duvets and watch The Notebook with a bottle of wine. Cena says he’ll train Miz on how to be a man. Cena says he wants a match with Alex Riley tonight, and if he wins, Alex Riley no longer works from The Miz. The Miz accepts, but says he has a condition. Miz says he won’t interfere, but if Alex Riley wins, then Cena has to publically admit The Miz is the greatest superstar of all time. Cena long-windedly accepts. The GM chimes in. Cole takes this one. No offense to Miz or his word, but to ensure no outside interference. Cena vs. Riley will take place inside a steel cage. The only way to win is to escape the cage, no pinfall or submission.

Match 3: Divas Battle Royal for #1 Contender

Boooring! Boooring! Boooring! Boooring! Boooring!

Winner: Bella… Twins?
Match Rating: _

We get Cena’s rap from last week replayed. We’re going live to The Rock from his home.

He starts off mocking Cena as a rapper. He snaps. He goes into his Rock regular. He calls himself the energy of the people. He plays to the crowd. He plays to Buffalo. He plays to the females! He says he’s got the attention of John Cena. He says he makes his historic return to Raw, spoke from the heart and exactly how he felt about Cena. He came back and addressed Cena like a man… and he only gets a rap in response!? Playin’ up the wigger act. He thought it was funny. He reminds the world that it all started with Cena running his mouth calling Rock a liar when he says he loves the WWE. He says he was told not to jerk the fans around by not coming back, and he was insulted by it. He says his love for the WWE is endless. He grew up in the WWE. He was born into it. His blood is the WWE. He plays to his legacy as a third-generation superstar. He still has his collection of titles in his house, which he proudly displays. Rock says he knew if he made it in Hollywood outside of the WWE, he helped open the door for the WWE locker room and John Cena… paved the way for the superstars, and he gets insulted and knocked by Cena. Rock says there are consequences, and Cena will pay for running his mouth. Rock rhymes poetry-style. He says he’ll be addressing Cena sooner than he thinks… he plays to crowd. He calls him a Yabba-Dabba bitch!

HBK talks about Triple H vs. The Undertaker in a video package.

Daniel Bryan comes out, and Miz attacks him. Kicks him in the head and stomps him down. Kicks him in the head a few more times. Hits the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz grabs the mic and says he did that because he can. Welcome to The Miz Show. Lower the cage and start the match.

Match 4: Steel Cage - John Cena vs. Alex Riley

Riley tries to exit the cage fast, Cena cuts him off. Cena takes advantage with strikes and a fisherman suplex. More strikes and kicks. Gutwrench suplex by Cena. Cena trying to exit now. Miz shuts the door on Cena. Miz slams the door on Cena. Riley stomping Cena. Miz has his Blackberry and takes a pic of Cena being grated in the cage. Miz posts it on his Twitter. Riley crawling out, Cena catches him, Miz trying to pull Riley out. Cena pulls Riley back in and locks in the STF. Miz using a chair to keep Cena from climbing out. Cena tries the other side, Miz keeping him in the cage. Riley with an electric chair. We come back and Riley gets the upper hand with a dropkick. Botched missed dropkick. 5 moves of doom from Cena. AA attempt, Riley grabs cage, climbing. Cena trying to climb. Fighting on the top rope. Riley knocks Cena down. Riley climbing over, Cena stirring. Cena getes up there with Riley who takes ages. They’re on top. Cena fighting with Riley, knocks him back into the cage. On the top rope again. Cena with a facebuster from the top rope. Cena hits the AA. He grabs Miz’s phone and takes a pic of Alex Riley. Miz shuts the cage door again. Cena trying to push it open. Cena opens it and falls out, Miz picks him up and hits the Skull Crushing Finale.

Winner: John Cena
Match Rating: **

Miz poses on the ramp.

Match of the Night: Steel Cage – John Cena vs. Alex Riley
The WWE Championship match at WrestleMania implications in this match boosted it. Some entertainment, decent performance by Riley. No match stood out really though.
Segment of the Night: The Rock
No brainer here… The Rock brought the lines and the intensity. And his ability to play with the crowd from thousands of miles away like he did… spectacular.
Show Rating: **
I like that they’re building up some storylines for WrestleMania. Some really good content left and right in terms of promos. Still wish there was more in-ring action, but I can take building up feuds for the grandest stage of ‘em all.

Rock's promo was amazing. It didn't rely on catchphrases at all, and was totally built around a continuing dialogue between the two. I don't know how Cena can possibly respond. His entire argument was that Rock left the WWE and so isn't loyal, but Rock pointed out that he went to Hollywood to help the business and open up doors for guys like Cena. Triple H promo was a huge disappointment. It was almost a parody interview, where he just said a bunch of cliches and put some conjunctions in between. He also didn't bring up doing it as retribution for Shawn, so everybody can stop pretending that's the reason now.

Edit: Oh yeah, the Miz promo was great as well. I'd like to see him come out one week to Rock's music for monster heat, then even cut a promo on Cena while mocking Rocky.

I kinda disagree. Although he made a valid point, it took him a plenty of time to do it, half of the promo was boring, definitely not The Rock standard.

Can someone explain the 'door opening' the Rock was talking about? It's not like he was the first wrestler to be in a movie, let alone a good movie.

Not sure if I am just taking his comments wrong.

I thought that as well, LHR. Hogan and Piper were in movies before The Rock was even out of school.

I didn't think it was up to his usual standards, either, tbh.

On another note, what the hell has Sheamus done to deserve this systematic squashing of what was one of their top heels a year ago?

Apparently Kevin Dunn doesn't like him; but that doesn't make sense to me to be honest; why not just transfer him over to SmackDown? Whatever the problem is, they handled it poorly, imo.

That is what is claimed. I won't believe that until I see that on iwantwrestling.com or pwinsider.com, so far haven't read it yet on either.
