Finn Balor’s contract up shortly after WrestleMania 40?

If he doesn't sign back with WWE I wouldn't mind to see the Prince back in New Japan and after losing Okada and Tama they need talent to come in for sure.

With Judgment Day pretty much having their hands over the entire RAW show, I doubt they wouldn’t offer him a new deal

I feel like something doesn't add up with this. I don't believe for a minute that someone so prominently featured hasn't been spoken to with like two months left on his deal.

I can believe he's not signed for sure but yeah not approaching is weird when they are approaching everyone else before, like Drew for instance I believe it's been reported he's been offered deals just not accepted.

But also with so many big names coming up this year, maybe they are having to budget somewhat?

So I was kind of talking about it in the RAW thread but there are small reasons to think it could happen. I would still say the winning bet atm would be with him staying but there are reasons why he may end up going .

1. He's older in age and has longevity with WWE, therefor he would likely want an increase in salary which is deservered. However, Nick Khan himself saidf in an interview last year that while they expect profitability to rise, it will not trickle down to the talent. I can find the article, I saw it quoted earlier this am.

2. While Judgement Day is the currently hottest faction, all good things come to an end and he's the oldest dude in the faction. Rhea and Dom imo are also the main protagonists of that faction, regardless of Finn and Damian being tag champions. Merch and reactions speak for themselves.

3. This one is more a what if - if TK is interested, he might make it so Finn's price tag is not worth the revenue he brings in. But that all depends of AEW's interest, which has not been reported up to date. Which brings us to the next point

4. Outbidding. AEW does not have a budget nor does it need to justify any spending to a board of directors. WWE does. They may have a hard time overpaying for Finn while also potentially overpaying for younger pieces that bring in more revenue, like Becky for example.

So while he seems content, there are some reasons why this could happen imo.

I don't see him going anywhere other than WWE or AEW at his age and for what he will command salary wise. NJPW are broke and that would have been the 3rd option in the past but I don't think that is realistic at all in this landscape

I’d be shocked if WWE doesn’t try to retain Finn Balor. For me that’s a no-brainer.
