No way was that first foul a penalty. A free kick and a yellow. sure. But not a penalty since Robben was nowhere near the penalty box.

Fifa has given up on Brazil

Jesus christ man, Brazil's players are great when playing at their respective teams (ex: Oscar, Daniel Alves) but when it comes down to the national team they don't seem to get along, FML. :ragemode:

This younger squad they are playing tonight have a huge disadvantage against Holland. the Dutch players have much more experience playing together and have developed chemistry and know where they have each other. Brazil have been doing well though, claiming more and more ground as this game has gone on.

A few players made the overral effort look better, but there are guys like David Luiz that just aren't playing their role right, there is always a free Dutch player on our territory, that's unexcusable.

Not watching the Netherlands game, but yea, against Germany they had no structure at all. Everyone was free flowing, which resulted in easy counters for Germany. Luiz and Alves especially both play more like attackers than defenders and kill the team in doing so.

So, how could the referee see this as diving when the other player just left the field in pain? That's absurd, clear penalty. Jesus Christ, so many fuck-ups by the referee this game

Is there any incentive to win the 3rd place game? I've always sort of wondered why they bother having it. Does the 3rd place team really go home any happier than the 4th place team?

Have to agree, some horrible refereeing. Also lol @ yellow card for diving. Robben should have had several red cards throughout the tournament lol.

A little bit late but Holland's penalty was a penalty, according to the rules. He started pulling Robben outside of the box BUT it's where the foul ends that matters. So he started pulling Robben outside of the box but he stilled pulled him inside the box, therefore it's a penalty.

Van Gaal (Holland coach) said "who wants to play for third place?" earlier today. Then he realized he could snub Brazil on a medal in Brazil and said "Obviously we are winning".

This is what happens when you build your teams morale, style of play and strategy around one player.

It depends on who's playing. This year with Brazil and Holland may feel a bit worthless because both were real title contenders. When there's smaller teams like in 94 when Sweden beat Bulgaria or in 98 when Croatia won or in 2002 when Turkey beat South Korea teams might go for it more but when there is bigger teams who feel like they should be in the final you get the feeling that they don't care.
