The first four Zelda games are some of my favorite games. A Link to the Past was simply brilliant. Something was lost during the move to 3D. Ocarina of Time was a good game, but I wouldn't say it's great.

Any games made today don't compare to some of the 8 bit classics that were on Nintendo, Atari or Sega system. Things like Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros., Excitebike and Zelda will never be as great as they once were. It could be because I am old and love those games on old systems. Same goes for the Tony Hawk games on Playstation many years ago. They can't recreate those as they were, thus they will never be as good.
I know what you mean, Donkey Kong and Super Mario Bros were two of my favorite games when I was younger.
