Police are asking for the public's help in their investigation of a woman's body found at a recycling center in Wilmington.

Los Angeles Fire officials responded to a call around 6:30 p.m. Friday at a recycling center in the 900 block of East E Street.

Workers were sorting through trash when they found the naked body of a Black female in her 20s rolling on a conveyor belt, police said.

Family members identified the victim to KTLA as 24-year-old Lacrecia Hill.

They said Lacrecia was living with her grandmother in Long Beach. She left her house around 10:30 a.m. on May 15.

Lacrecia told her family she was going to a party later that day. She called her cousin from the party, but had not been heard from since.

The sorting facility receives trash and recyclable items from all across Southern California, from San Juan Capistrano to areas north of Los Angeles.

Homicide investigators believe the body may have been delivered in a truckload to the facility for processing earlier in the day on Friday.

The cause of death has not been released.
