Match#1 King Kong Masca w/Lou Albano vs Lee Wang

Masca mauls the kid for a while and refuses to pin him and keeps battering the shit out of him, so the ref DQ's him in a rarity.
3/4*

Patterson walks over to interview the ref, and Pat says KKM got what he deserved..AND MASCA SMASHES A FUCKING JUG OF WATER OVER PATTERSON'S SKULL. HE KICKS THE SHIT OUT OF HIM AND SMACKS HIM IN THE HEAD AGAIN WITH THE JUG AND THE CROWD RUSHES THE RING AND A COP HAS TO COME OVER AND ESCORT MASCA OUT. REF'S CHECK ON PAT AND THE ENTIRE CROWD IS PACKED AGAINST THE TINY STRING THAT KEEPS THEM OUT, AND IT'S AN AMAZING SCENE.

Match#2 Rick Martel & Tony Garea vs Shaw & Siccluna
This goes nearly 8 minutes in another horrrrrrrrrrrrrible choice. Even more so because it means the terrible heels have to control with some of the worst looking nerve holds ever, and it's insane this was even allowed to happen by anyone in charge. The fellas take over and then control for another couple of minutes despite there being no need for it. I HATE EVERYTHING. Martel finally ends it with the sunset flip
1/2*

At ringside, Vince interviews them and they talk for another 3 minutes about nothing, so Vince has to steer them back to Fuji/Saito, and they of course say they'll happily fight them. Jesus Christ.

Match#3 Greg Valentine w/Grand Wizard vs Ron Ringo
Greg goes for the strikes to the body this week instead of the legs, and i think it's him switching it up so no jobber can figure him out, and i adore it. He muscles the kid around with awesome suplexes and throws, and the poor kid is thrown like a bag of shit. Figure Four does it
**

Post match, Valentine punches him in the head just to do it.

Match#4 Killer Khan w/Freddie Blassie vs Lee Wang
No thank you

Match#5 Don Muarco vs George Roseallo
Don gets 120 seconds this week, so he rushes the kid and beats the piss out of him in awesome fashion. Gross Tombstone does it

At ringside, Patterson is very mad about being brained last week. None of this matters as i can't find any of their matches, but whatever.

Match#1 Greg Valentine w/Grand Wizard vs Curt Hennig
An actual dream match comes to life!!!! Awesome fight o start with Hennig showing he has the speed over Hammer, and he bounces him all over the pace and Hammer is PISSED. He drops him with a gross elbow and goes to work on him in brutal fashion, and Curt again dies on everything and makes Hammer's control even better than normal. Hammer drops him with a suplex and locks in the Figure Four to end it.
**3/4

Post match, Hammer attacks him and drops him dick first on the ropes and Hennig faceplants on the concrete. Refs put the kid on a gurney and take him out. Awesome angle.

Match#2 King Kong Masca w/Lou Albano vs Angelo Gomez
Bad dull stuff from the lug of WWF. He wins with a bad shoulderbreaker
1/2*

At ringside, Pat interviews Mill about his training and whatnot,

Match#3 Pedro Morales vs Mike Masters.
Thankfully not very long this time. Not good, but at least we don't suffer. Crab does it
1/2*

Match#4 Tony Atlas vs Johnny Rodz

This is from a house show as Bruno is back on commentary gushing over Atlas. Tony is terrible again, and the real highlight is Vince describing his offence as "interesting" while laughing. Atlas wins with a monkey flip.
1/2*

Match#5 Tony Atlas & Tony Garea vs Estrada & Siccluna

Goes 4 minutes this week, which is way too long but it's at least not 10. Sunset flip ends it after some dull and boring stuff.

Match#1 Don Muarco w/Grand Wizard vs Lee Wong

Only 90 seconds again in a real shame, but fun nonetheless. Tombstone does it
*

Match#2 Pedro Morales vs Bill Dixon

Dixon is a fat dude with an afro and it's fun watching him get in there and give it a go. He takes some wild bumps for a dude as big as him, including a massive backbreaker that's the coolest looking thing Pedro has done in years. Crab does it
*

Match#3 King Kong Masca vs Ringo & Gomez
Again, only a dude like Andre (and Bundy and Studd in the future) should be getting handicap squashes, not this moron. He just doesn't have the juice to do this in a fun way, so fuck even trying. Backbreakers end it
1/2*

At ringside, Patterson interviews the new team of Atlas and SD. Oh noooooooooo. They talk about training and love of feet...

Match#4 Greg Valentine w/Grand Wizard vs Jerry Johnson
Hammer murders the jobber with his amazing offence and it's a complete blast. He wins this week with an Elbow Drop
*3/4

Match#5 Andre The Giant vs Ron Shaw

GOD YES. Andre shows these fake ass bitches how it's done with another terrific squash. He pulls the kids arms ALL the way back and bullies him in amazing ways and makes him look like a complete tool. He squashes the poor guy with his ass to win
**

Match#6 Tony Atlas & SD Jones vs Johnny Rodz & Moose Monroe
The only good thing about this team being a thing is it leads to Rocky Johnson debuting which leads to The Rock debuting. Other than that, the thought of these two together fills me with dread. This is horrible as SD is boring and adds nothing, and Atlas looks like he was never trained as he can't do anything correctly or well. Also goes for 6 plus minutes, so nothing here is good. Atlas wins with a horrible looking press slam
1/2*

Match#7 Jesse The Body Ventura w/Freddie Blassie vs Mike Molter

Jesse is wearing a full head dress and has blue and red stripes in his hair, and he looks like the biggest asshole in the world and it's perfect. He throws some ok strikes and slams, but his entire deal is his awesome character work, so none of that matter. He wins with a bearhug in 50 seconds.

Match#1 Rick Martel & Tony Garea vs Mr Fuji & Mr Saito w/Lou Albano (WWF Tag Team Championships 13/10/81)

OH NO. This is from Championship Wrestling, and sadly we can't run from it anymore. Opening few mintues are fun as the champs run all the place in a frantic pace, and it's the best they've looked in months, and to the heels credit they actually sell and bump and try to make everything look as good as possible. sadly, the heels take over and it all falls to pieces as their control is horrible and boring, and Garea isn't a great face in peril on top of all of that. Martel's hot tag is great though as he shows all the fire in the world, but it's too little too late as they say. Albano gives Fuji some powder and he throws it in Garea's face and Saito slams him to win the titles.
*

horrible choice to give them the titles, but i'm so over this entire terrible divison to care at this point.

Match#2 Jesse Ventura w/Freddie Blassie vs Lee Wong
Jesse does a lot of stalling and showboating in between some strikes and slams like last week, so i assume it's going to be like this forever. He wins with the backbreaker again
1/2*

Match#3 Don Muarco w/Grand Wizard vs Barry Hart

Don gets a little longer this time to bash some poor shithead, but not long enough, sadly. He wins with a fancy cradle
*

At ringside, Patterson interviews them. Muarco says he's getting bored of being champion, and there's some thought that maybe he's being seduced by the sounds of the waves to go back and ride them, but it's not true as his goal of holding both titles is still very much alive.

Match#4 Adrian Adonis w/Freddie Blassie vs Steve King
Awesome to see all the future big names show up even for a few months. it's also wild to see him in shape as i've never really seen much of him, but he's very good, so i should see more. He pounds the crap out of King and then beats him with his sleeper.
*3/4

Match#5 SD Jones & Tony Atlas vs Jose Estrada & Bill Dixon

Very bad again and i don't see that changing. Atlas' strikes are some of the worst i've ever seen, as he does the terrible windups with no power behind them and everything looks worse for having to sell it. Bad press slam ends it
Poop

Match#6 Hans Schroder vs Jeff Crane

Hey, it's the dude from Boardwalk Empire... He's a big burly dude who looks a mix between Kevin Sullivan and Taz, but not anywhere near as good as either of them. He wins with a bad backbreaker

Fuck off

Match#2 Killer Khan w/Freddie Blassie vs Jerry Jonson

Khan does his terrible monster stuff in front of a dead crowd, and it's so cool watching this shit blowup in everyone's face. Legit everything he does is done to the sounds of silence and apathy, and it couldn't have happened to a better person. He hits a terrible legdrop to win
1/2*

Match#3 Greg Valentine w/Grand Wizard vs Ringo

Hammer goes right for the legs this time and we get that awesome close-up shot of them bending, and it's so rad and cool. He beats the hell out of them and then wins with the figure four
**

At ringside, Patterson interviews Wizard and Hammer. GW says it will be Hammer whose going to beat Backlund, and he'll be his third world champion and the best of all of them. Hammer says this has been planned for two years and he's back to beat that puppet Backlund and take the title. He says Bob is ripe for the pickings and he's going to be the picker who ends him.

Match#4 Rick Martel & Tony Garea vs O'Hanlon & Shaw
Good showcase for the guys, but man it is high time for a heel turn for one of them that is sadly is never coming. Still too long for a showcase, but it's good and not 133 minutes, so i can live with it, Sunset Flip ends it

HAHAHAHHAAHAH NO

Match#2 Tony Atlas vs Jose Estrada
"He's SO museled up and flexible"-Vince.
Really bad showcase for Tony again, and he might be better off in tag matches where he can at least be hidden for some of it. He look really lost and everything he does seems to be laboured as he needs to remember what to do next... Bad Slam does it
1/2*

Match#3 Killer Khan vs Bary Hart

Oh, it's one of those episodes. Sucks all the shit again, and i can't care anymore. He wins with a terrible strike to the head.
1/2*

At ringside, Patterson interviews Blassie and Adonis. Adrian gives us his entire backstory of being a tough kid from NYC who fought and clawed and stopped because people didn't like his attitude. CAN YOU IMAGINE ANYONE NOT LIKING THIS FACE. He is beautiful, and he is going to run everyone over who gets in his way, He wants to take the belt away from the fans because they're followers, and he's a leader baby. HE CAN STREET FIGHT AND WRESTLE, A DEADLY COMBO. HE IS THE WORLD TRADE CENTRE OF WRESTLING, JUST LOOK AS HIS SHOULDERS, JACK. He offers ten grand for anyone who can stop his Irene (sleeper hold), and he dares someone to step up. I love him.

Match#4 Adrian Adonis w/Freddie Blassie vs Angelo Gomez
Adonis uses his awesome wrestling and street fighting to kick the hell out of Gomez. Short showcase, but a great one. He wins with Irene.

They show an old Ivan Putski showcase for some hideous reason.

Match#1 Mr Fuji & Mr Saito w/Lou Albano vs Soto & Gomez

Hits just keep on coming, don't they? Loaded boot does it again
1/2*

Match#2 Tony Atlas vs Johnny Rodz

Atlas wins with a terrible headbutt in maybe 25 seconds.
Poop

Post match, Rodz tries to attack but Atlas hits him with another bad headbutt and holds the ring

We get a cool video about Backlund being a proud dad when he's not murdering people.

Match#3 Jesse Ventura w/Freddie Blassie vs Steve King
Ventura is only getting maybe a minute tops, so it's hard to really tell how good he is, as i've never seen much of his work as AWA is hard to come by, but i like what i see. Canadian Backbreaker ends it
3/4*

Match#4 SD Jones & Curt Hennig vs Ron Shaw & O'Hanlon

Not a great showcase for Hennig as he's stuck with SD, but he look good and gets moments to shine, so not a complete waste. He wins with a forearm, which isn't what i expected, but it looked good.
3/4*

Match#5 Greg Valentine w/Grand Wizard vs Ricardo

Greg goes for violence this week and batters the jobber in and out of the ring. Figure Four ends it

We kick off with another terrible old Putski match.

Match#1 Adrian Adonis w/Freddie Blassie vs Angelo Gomez
Adonis reminds me a Mox/Regal blend with these sloppy but gross amazing strikes, and this awesome tight mat work which is never boring as he's always moving and doing something cool. He drops the jobber throat first on the ropes and locks in Irene to win. Awesome way to transition into it
**

At ringside, Vince interviews them. Blassie says Adonis has to stay in amazing shape so he beat all these pencil neck geeks (ahh fuck) and he's going all the way. Adonis says he is the man of 1000 holds and he went to the Jnr olympics when he was a kid, and his bloodline is TOUGH. He is one of the most deadly men on earth and that's a fact, jack. Adonis says everyone here lacks the guts to keep fighting when they get hurt, but he doesn't. HE KNOWS EVERYTHING. YOU CAN'T TELL HIM ANYTHING. HE IS A FINE TUNED PIECE OF MACHINERY. HE GOING TO DESTROY EVERY CRUMB THEY PUT IN THE RING WITH HIM. I love him.

Match#2 Pedro Morales vs Ron Shaw
Same old squash for Pedro. Guess the title switch was the last time he's going to give a shit for at least the next two years. Crab does it
3/4*

At ringside, Vince interviews him. He says the title belongs to all the kind fans who he loves.

Match#3 Greg Valentine w/Grand Wizard vs SD Jones
SD dominates to start in an horrible choice given how bad he is, and how great Hammer is. After a few dull minutes Hammer takes over and thankfully beats the crap out of him and it rocks. Really mean and brutal stuff, and SD deserves a beating and even more just for being alive. SD makes a terrible comeback that Hammer ends with an elbow to the head and then one to the chest to end it

Match#1 Jesse Ventura w/Freddie Blassie vs Pete Mitchell

Vince talks about Blassie's obsession with managing the world title after so many failed attempts, and he wonders if Jesse is the answer. He's not, but it's cool they're telling the story for so long. Jesse gets some time this week and works the neck and it's not bad for his first real go at it. Nothing fancy, just good ol' mean work for a while. He wins with the Canadian Backbreaker.
*3/4

Post match, Jesse yells over the replay that no one gets out of his hold, JACK.

Match#2 Steve Travis vs Jeff Crane
Nice to see Travis back as the same dudes on every show was driving me nuts, and he's pretty good as this wrestling thing. Not the most exciting dude or anything, but really solid and always doing something to advance in the match. He does a lot of fancy stuff on the arm for a while, and it's a nice change of pace. Travis throws him out of the corner and pins him in a really weird moment given the entire match.
*3/4

At ringside, Vince interviews him. Steve says he got back from Japan after the last two years and he's put some weight on and he's ready for some good things in this area. He names all the top heels he wants to fight, and that's that.

Match#3 Greg Valentine w/Grand Wizard vs Soto
Hammer jumps him right away and beats his head in in amazing fashion. Soto fights back and throws some great right hands and pinballs him over, and Hamme's selling is tremendous. Soto keeps it up and maybe has it, but Hammer cuts him off with a knee to the gut and goes to work. He hits two quick elbows to end it
**

Pedro comes out for his squash and it's about to star, but Hammer rushes the ring and tries to get the jobber to let him take his place. That doesn't work, so Hammer gets in Pedro's face and dares him to do it. Hammer leaves the ring and is met by Vince. He says Pedro won;'t give him a shot despite saying he would fight anyone, AND PEDRO RUNS OUT OF THE RING AND SPINS HIM AROUND AND SAYS HE'LL FIGHT HIM ANYTIME ANYPLACE. Hammer says he's getting the title back for the Wizard, and this greaseballs days are numbered. He walks off and Pedro is PISSED. Awesome angle,

Match#4 Pedro Morales vs Jerry Johnson
Pedro is very mad and beats the jobber's ass for about 50 seconds and wins with the crab.
1/2*

Post match, Hammer gets back in the ring and throws a towel at him before leaving again. SO happy to see the IC title getting proper feuds to sell how badly everyone wants a shot at it.

Match#5 Tony Atlas vs Victor Marcado
Very bad stuff, and we should be thankful he never won the IC title. Horrible offence once again, and i have to harp on the fact i don't think he's trained and he lied his way into this spot because everything he does is terrible. He wins with that awful press slam

Match#1 Rick Martel & Tony Garea vs Jose Estrada & Johnny Rodz

I swear I'm not just putting the same match over and over again, it's just WWF is lazy and insane. The control seg on Garea isn't great as they just work his arm for a while, and don't actually beat the crap out of him, and i swear he's actually a coward who refuses to take a beating and makes everyone look like pussies as a result. Martel gets the hot tag and that's F I N E E N O U G H, but i wish he was just a singles dude and didn't have this loser as his partner. A fucking sunset flip ends for a change.
KILL ME

Match#2 Jesse Ventura w/Freddie Blassie vs Curt Hennig

There's a long closeup on Jesse's ass and Vince is amazed by his tights being pink with flowers on them...(yeah not touching that one) Jesse has some amazing stooging and shit talking in between Hennig making him look foolish until he shuts it down and beats the heck out of him. He keeps throwing him to the floor and Curt takes more and more wild bumps. He makes a short comeback, BUT JESSE MOVES AND HENNIG FLIES OUT OF THE RING AND HITS THE HARDWOOD FLOOR. JESUS CHRIST. Jesse drags him and hits some backbreakers because sticking his finish on to win
**

At ringside, Patterson interviews them. Blassie shit talks the crowd as only he can and they want him dead, and it's just something that always makes me smile. Jesse says he calls lowlifes "JACK" and that's what Pat and all these JACKS's are. He wears sunglasses because he has sensitive eyes, but he overcomes it because that's what he does. He talks about how much he loves being a poser and how he's the best poser to ever live. He says he was the bodyguard for the Rolling Stone, and he's a true rock star. He says the band doesn't like Backlund because he's a nobody and soon to be ex champion of the world. Weird way to jumpstart Jesse as the next challenger, but whatever gets us there, i guess.

Match#3 Adrian Adonis w/Freddie Blassie vs Steve King
Adrian goes the arm this time and does a lot of cool mean stuff to it like dropping his entire ass on it, and just being a real piece of shit. He keeps it up and King is a wonderful punching bag for all of this. GOODNIGHT IRENE ends it
**

Match#4 Mr Fuji & Mr Saito w/Lou Albano vs Barry Hart & Dominic DeNucci

The GOAT jobber Barry Horowitz is finally making his debut, god yes. Shame it's in a spot where he can''t use his gifts to make it good, but love to see him here. This is very bad as always, and i can't add much as they suck and don't deserve it. Fujin wins with a bad Samoan Drop
1/2*

Match#5 Tony Atlas vs Jeff Crane

Fucking hell, here we go again. Crane tries his best to bump big for all the bad stuff, but it doesn't work when Atlas gets lost again and takes 5 seconds before each step. Press slam does it

Match#1 Steve Travis vs Joes Estrada

Jose doesn't play and rushes him and it turns into a cool fight. They throw bombs at each other and Travis has some awesome punches and forearms in him, and it's good to see. Jose tries to break Travis' nose by shoving it back and forth, so Travis fucking bites his hand in revenge. FUCK YEAH. They keep fighting and Travis is bleeding from the nose and he looks very mad. He drags Jose down and beats him with a cradle.
**3/4

Post match, Travis storms off and looks legit pissed off, which is more than fair.

Match#2 Johnny Rodz vs Steve King
Jobber fight. Rodz beats the hell out of him and it's so wonderful seeing him on the winning side for once. He wins with a big splash off the top.
*

Match#3 Tony Atlas vs Hans Schroder
Oh joy. Reallly bad as you'd imagine given neither man is good or trained, or even worth being on my TV. Atlas wins with a bad splash this week.
1/2*

Match#4 Greg Valentine vs Barry Hart

Sadly only 60 seconds, but still awesome as hell. Figure Four does it
*

Post match, Hammer gets on the mic and calls for Pedro. He gets out and is met by Vince as ringside. Hammer says he's been running from him because he's a yellow coward who hides in his house, and Pedro comes out to defend his name. Pedro says he'll only do it on TV, and he wants to kick his butt next week. HELL YEAH.

Match#5 Jesse Ventura w/Freddie Blassie vs Steve King
Jesse is getting better at this as he's throwing better strikes and throws King around the place. Backbreaker ends it, and our year of wrestling

WRESTLER OF THE YEAR
This is shocking and not shocking at the same time. It's not shocking given how amazing this man was for the first 6 months of the year with awesome squashes on TV, and a series of classics on the live events, but it's shocking because he was gone after June and somehow kept the lead all year despite the likes of Maurco getting within spitting distance of him. Your winner is...

SOOOOO, HEY. i fucked up and forgot to review this, so you're getting a bonus match.

Andre The Giant vs Killer Khan (Mongolian Stretcher Match 11/14/81)
After all the horrible months of this push, Andre squashes him in 8 minutes. AMAZING. A real fuck you to anyone who thought this jerkoff was going to ever live up to anyone dumb enough to put hope in him. Incredible beating from Andre with a ton of gross strikes and hair pulling and throwing him all over the place without a care in the world for his life. Andre hits a piledriver. Good lord, man. Andre gives him a little control seg on his leg and it's fine enough, and thankfully not very long. Once Andre gets up he murders him some more, and even hits him over the head with the stretcher in a true fuck you. He sits on him a few times and clubs him in the face and kills him with another massive splash. They place him on the stretcher and take him and his push out of the arena.
