Cowboy Bebop Discussion

Necro

Hi, I'm Chucky. Wanna play?

A 10-episode live-action “Cowboy Bebop” series from writer and executive producer Christopher Yost (Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok) is on the way to Netflix, with John Cho (Searching) set to lead the cast as Spike Spiegel. The streaming service announced this morning that “Cowboy Bebop” will be premiering on November 19, 2021!

Additionally, we’ve been provided with some first-look images. Find them below!

Based on the worldwide phenomenon from Sunrise Inc., Cowboy Bebop is the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts, as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals.

They’ll even save the world…for the right price.

Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.”

The series also stars Alex Hassell and Elena Satine.

Cowboy Bebop is executive produced by André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Makoto Asanuma, Shin Sasaki and Masayuki Ozaki of Sunrise Inc., Tim Coddington, Tetsu Fujimura, Michael Katleman, Matthew Weinberg, and Christopher Yost. Nemec serves as showrunner. Original anime series director Shinichirō Watanabe is a consultant on the series, and original composer Yoko Kanno returns for the live-action adaptation.”

I'm the Doctor
I'm praying to the Anime Gods that this Bebop Series really kills. It will open the Gates further for future Anime properties maybe getting some Live Action love down the road. Hopefully in September we get a Trailer for this so I can get more of a feel for the Series were going to get.

Real iffy on live-action in general but that don't look half bad....still :deandre

Absolutely love this show though, I've always described it as "Firefly but an anime" since I heard that somewhere else and if you've seen Firefly legit just imagine that show as an anime lmao Also every episode is named after classic rock songs so that's cool

Doesn't look bad. The intro is neat but also kind of comes across as a fake trailer someone made on youtube.

I was seriously mostly curious how they'd pull Ed off in live action but I may have to wait for season 2.

Is Jet African-American in the anime too? I never watched it but I don't believe he was.
