This thread is exclusively for country music, from all the years and other combining genres. I'm proud to start this thread off to share the love, and thoughts, of country music.

You can really pinpoint when country became commercialized and glorified southern pop sometime in the 90s or so, its just so much better before then. Not saying there's still not a lot of good stuff after, I grew up on mostly late 90s and 2000s but it's like an entirely different genre lol

Yeah, then near the end of the 2000s maybe actually a little into the 2010s, it took a huge huge ass nose dive. Like it’s become so hard to actually find country music I can enjoy now. It’s mainly the artist who’s been around awhile who might put out a good song. But if you want real country music, then all the different unknown artist who just put stuff on YouTube is what you gotta look for.

You're exactly right. Country music was the shit in the 90s through the mid 2000s until it started to go sour late that decade. There's not many memorable songs and it got worse going into the 2010s and beyond. It became more and more pop, it became unattractive and forgettable. I do admit that there are a few songs but that's just it. Those songs won't fit those shoes as the country songs in the 90s did when I was growing up.
