WWE's Charlotte Flair is attached to star in a remake of "Walking Tall" on the USA Network.
Deadline reported on Monday that a remake of "Walking Tall" has received a script sale from the USA Network. The remake is by former "Battlestar Galactica" executive producer David Eick and features Charlotte attached as the star of the TV movie. It's being produced by Village Roadshow in association with Three Rivers, WWE Studios, and Mosaic.
Deadline wrote that "Walking Tall" is being set up as a two-hour TV movie on the USA Network with the hope of future installments or as an ongoing series.
Charlotte "will play a Tucson cop who finds herself caught in a web of fraud, exploitation and murder, and is forced to go full vigilante to protect her home town from falling victim to modern corruption."
Charlotte (real name Ashley Fliehr) previously appeared in "Psych: The Movie" for the USA Network in 2017 and played herself on an episode of Peacock's "Punky Brewster" revival that premiered this year.
The original version of "Walking Tall" was released in 1973 and was about a former professional wrestler-turned-lawman. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson starred in a remake of "Walking Tall" in 2004.
On Raw two weeks ago, Charlotte cut a promo declaring that she wants to challenge Raw Women's Champion Asuka at WrestleMania 37. Asuka's WrestleMania challenger has yet to be announced.
